Just picked up a bottle brewed on 1/22/16 from a good shop in the 603. Am I the only one that's getting an awful metallic(handful of pennies) taste in this release or did we get a funked up bottle? I remember liking this when I had it previously. What do you think?

I didn't get that at all in mine. Maybe just a bad bottle.

I literally just finished a bottle of this. Definitely got some of the metallic taste you're describing, but not to a point where it was a drain pour beer. Haven't had this previously so I can't compare to years' past.

I had a bottle last week and thought it was delicious. Hadn't had one of these since 2011, and when I checked my ratings from back then, it was a 4.4 and about spot on to what I would have rated it in 2016.

No dp yet... I'm waiting for it to warm a bit, but still getting that metallic taste... Really surprised by this one. The first off beer that I've had from them.

There's a pretty intense, borderline astringent peat malt flavor to this brew when fresh, reminiscent of scotch whiskey. Curious if you're a fan of scotch? I think that's the "off" flavor you could be referring to, which does fade with time, I've found.

Had a bottle last week. Did seem more rough, murky compared to how I'm used to it tasting. Still, I was thinking of maybe grabbing another bottle and letting it sit for awhile, see if the flavors meld a little better down the line. But I've bought bottles from previous releases of this and have loved it, bottles as fresh as this last one. Have you noticed something off about anything else of theirs lately?

I had one over the weekend too and didn't get any metallic tastes. Lots of that smoky, peat malt up front that I imagine will fade a bit over time. Thought it was good now, but will get better with some more time to meld. I hadn't had it before so don't have any other reference.

Had it on draft recently and loved it. Zero off notes. Maybe a hair boozy if anything. Immediately bought a four pack and to the cellar it went.

I do love scotch! I really enjoy single malts from the Islay region that are known to be peat bombs. This was not that the flavor I was getting. Just metallic, that is really the only thing that came to mind... Oh well. We didn't end up cleaning the sink with it after all. I did let the glass warm in my hand for about an hour then tried it with the same taste. Just a rare miss for me from DFH I guess.
