Anyone have thoughts or a recipe for how to recreate Bramble using a Randall Jr or french press?

I've had success recreating prop '13, coffee, cherry, and vanilla...but haven't tried to make a Bramble yet, and I have never had it so I don't know what it should taste like.

Any thoughts on how many raspberries / blackberries? Mashed? Cut in half? Time? etc.

Could you post the recipes for recreating all of the variants. I bought a french press for that reason. And have you every tried any of the recipes using the barley wine?

The only thing you will be hard pressed to do is recreate the sweetness (too sweet in my opinion). But i think it would be excellent with a handfull of mashed berries in a french press. Just my 2cents

Sure I can post my recipes later.

As for bramble, is it more blackberry or raspberry forward? Any other important notes in there? Chocolate? vanilla?

I thouhgt it was heavy raspberry, blackberry was in the backgroud for me. I remember thinking raspberry syrup mixed with bourbon county. Im hoping the sweetness fades over time on my last bottle.

Been posted before but here. I just muddled them and poured 1/2 bcbs in press and let sit in fridge for half hour or so. Combine and enjoy!

I was just thinking about this.

I have a couple Bomb! laying around, and I think it'd be great with a little barrel. Bomb! + 2oz of BCBS = delicious?

Could probably do a 50/50 split. I just cold steeped cinnamon stick, cocoa nibs, espresso beans and some vanilla in the bottle for a few hours.

I enjoy taking some bcbs and adding a split vanilla bean and a couple whole coffee beans to the bottle and recapping and putting in fridge for a few days.

Be sure it's cold as can be to minimize foaming and maintain carbonation.
    It's fantastic!

I'd do as the poster above said. Press half to maintain some carbonation. Try around 4 ounces of total berries.

So I made it last night with blue, black, and raspberries. About 4-5oz total. It was VERY raspberry forward, which probably means I was pretty close to the fresh Bramble! LOL

Anyways, if I do it again, i'll use about half the raspberries, or perhaps only chop them instead of muddled. It was still amazing though.

This was a great idea. I did the berries with some bourbon soaked oak chips and a Velvet Merlin. VM is a great base beer for trying things with stouts. And I was very happy with the results.

Wish I had BCBS to just fuck around with... I've never even had the chance to buy a bottle.

At $12 for a 375 ml bottle, I'm probably too cheap for that but it could be fun (not sure what BCBS runs for but I'm guessing not that high). My brother and I actually added some cold brewed coffee to a few ounces of BBA Dark App and BBA Siberian Night. Very tasty addition to both.

Edit, I have BBA Dark App in the cellar from a few months ago... you've got my mind going now... dare I use a BBA Black Maple? Blueberries and cacao nibs?

Its jammy, so its raspberry and blackberry jam (sugar). More of just berries with sugar. It wasnt tart at all.

Here's my favorite. You can drop the coconut, and replace it with 8-10 chopped fresh cherries to make a tasty cherry rye!

    2013 Prop

    - 12oz BCBS
    - 2/3c Flaked Coconut - lightly toasted in skillet
    - 4 semi-sweet chocolate chips
    - 3/4" chopped vanilla bean

Toast coconut until lightly brown in some areas. Add all coconut to the randall jr, then drop in your 4 semi-sweet chocolate chips. The heat of the coconut should melt them slightly. Add your chopped vanilla bean to the mix, then pour the entire 12oz of BCBS very slowly into the randall jr. Seal the cap as quickly and tightly as possible, and place in the fridge for an hour. Remove from fridge for 30' to allow the temp to drop. Open, and enjoy your delicious prop.
