Unfortunately not regular BCBS, but got to sample BCBCS a couple years back. Very sad, i know. We don't even get it in Ohio and never made a trip to seek it out.

Haven't had Bramble, but I enjoyed the bejesus out of 10mo old '13 BCBS with raspberries and blackberries. Jammy as fuck and delicious. Reminded me a lot of Backyard Rye, but again I haven't had Bramble which it may have been closer to.

I used a solid handful of each berry, mascerated them and poured in a half bottle of the BCBS into a french press. Let it sit for about 45 minutes, strained into a glass and added the other half the bottle. It had come up to serving temp and having left half the pour in the bottle the carb level wasn't too far off.

I might have to do this again soon.

This sounds like fun... I should buy another french press just to fuck around with different additions to beers.

Great beer. Super bourbon-y, so hope you like that

I'm pumped to try it for sure. BBA stouts have grown on me over the years. Two of my favorites are BA Boris and BBA Dark App, which I would say are fairly bourbon forward. Haven't had KBS for a couple years, so I probably would like it more than I used to. Big Bad Baptist is probably my favorite beer (along with Bodhi), but it is definitely subtle on the bourbon. We will see on the BCBS. I'll report back.

BA Dark App and BA Boris are nowhere near the level of bourbon that BCBS has. Trust me.

Anyone ever use the barleywine as a base and added some fruit or other stuff? I just got a 32 oz growler of it and thought this would be the perfect time to experiment.

Tried the same recipe with the berries and the barleywine bit it's not quite as good as with the stout. Barleywine with some cold brewed espresso was pretty awesome.

JalapeƱos and habaneros work amazingly too.

IMO the berries add too much juice but then again those are my least favorite variants in the first place.

French pressed some crushed up almond toffee and some toasted coconut and it was great but the toffee and coconut mush left over had a lot of alcohol flavor left over which led me to think the BCBS lost a lot of it's alcohol.

I would stay away from blueberries. French pressed muddled blueberries with Bourbon County and it really was not good. I would stay from them and stick to raspberries and blackberries. Thats my 2 cents

That sounds awesome! I have some homemade vanilla extract. Would adding a drop of extract work the same?
