DFW LIF

In light of recent "events" I have come to realize how grateful I am to be surrounded by ALL of you. Yes, I've made some disparaging remarks about living in DFW (and I still hate the Cowboys and always will) but I want to express my gratitude to you guys/gals. As BA's I'm glad to see us having more organized bottle shares (thanks Matt, Seth, Kevin, etc) and meeting many of you at random events and/or bars. It always amazes me how many lurkers come out of the woodwork for those things, haha. I bet only 30% of the DFW BA population actually post anything, getting sidetracked.

Soooo...I'll be starting an LIF this evening at 7 (so people have time to get home) as a thank you. I'll probably just come up with 5 questions and give hints once or twice a day so it gives everyone a chance to see this thread. To get the bottles, I will either meet you somewhere in DFW (preferably a bar) or I'll buy you a few beers at Square Burger in McKinney and then hit a couple beers in my stash. Feel free to bring a friend as long as they enjoy good beer.

Not sure how many people will participate but hopefully some of you lurkers will come out and play. It would be a great chance to meet some of you. I'm willing to bet not many DFW BA's will see this so I may adjust the rate of hints after the first day or two. If its just 2 of you, we may just have a nice "get together" at my place and open several bottles. If certain trolls show up we'll make the necessary adjustments. Cheers!

Yeah, it was for the better other than there were probably only one or two DFW BA's that saw it but its all good. I'm sure I'll enjoy hangin' with either one, or both

 

Well shit...we shouldn't have a hard time getting together for a few beers at some point regardless. Between us, I'm a die hard Giants fan but I like RG3 and would be more than happy to cheer on your Skins against the 'Girls any day. When the Giants aren't playing, I'm a fan of whoever is playing the 'Girls. I'll shut up now, probably not a good start to get to know other DFW BA's, lol.

 

Alright, lets see if we can at least get 3 participants by tomorrow. Since my other thread was deleted, rightfully so, this will probably be small. I will give one series of hints later tonight. Since the first round will be completely random guesses I don't think anyone will have an unfair advantage who doesn't get to guess this go 'round. Here we go.

Quick Rules
1) DFW residents/BA's only

1) Whats my favorite pizza place in DFW?

2) What color is my current plate on the wall at the Flying Saucer?

3) Like a good PB&J there are some things that are comforting and always put a smile on my face. Drinking at the FS in Addison is one of them, name the other bar that I consider "home". Hint: Its NOT in McKinney.

4) Dimebag Darrell called DFW (Arlington) home. Where was the last venue I saw him play? (its in DFW)

5) What city (DFW) did I move to when I was 8?

Good luck! Anyone who doesn't win...I may try to do this on a more regular basis to get to know more of you and you're always welcome to come to my house and drink beer. I just may not send you home with 3 bottles

 

This may be the easiest 3 beers you've won I'll give it until 7 tonight and if no one else joins they're yours. If you want to guess again ou can or wait and see if anyone else shows up.

Hints:
1) The plate is not blue but does have something in common with a phone book
2) Holy Grail is wrong but does have something in common with one of the other questions. The bar is south of LBJ.
3.) Smirnoff/Starplex/Superpages.com center/whatever the f they call it now is a great guess and would be right if he was still playing with Pantera when I saw him last. The venue is wayyy west. Remember, this is a dFW lif.

I'll leave it at that for now to see if anyone else shows up without giving away the answers first.

 

Wow...glad I didn't give anymore hints. Later today Ill add couple more that may not be so obvious. Glad to see a new "face".

 

Hint: Rosso makes a good pie but that's wrong. This place has more than one location in Dallas but not more than 10 or 20 or 30. Guess again.

 

Damn, you boys are all over it. At this point just check for hints throughout the rest of the day.
