They don't open until 4, no word on tapping times. I'm going up there this afternoon so I'll find out more.

I don't get how that is French Oaked Buried Hatchet if it was aged in Four Roses barrels. Sounds more like bourbon barrel aged...

Yea, let me know some times for sure. I might haul my butt over there Wednesday for a pint or two or Thursday for a gallon or two.

Tappings will be tapped when they open that day. I've only had a sample of Barrel Aged Blockhead before... Holy Hell that stuff is great on draft!

I wouldn't have paid it any attention had Fern not recommended it. It was pretty awesome. And one of the surprise beers I've enjoyed this year that I thought would be "meh".

Dropped the same week as Uncle Jacobs if I remember correctly. I was expecting good and got great with this. Vice versa on Uncle Jacobs. Much like Weyerbacher Whiskey Barrel and Bishops Barrel, I've found I appreciate the aging on less viscous base beers.. Maybe that will change over time.

Any thoughts on if the rare kegs will last more than a day? I'd like a chance to try multiple but I can't rightfully make the trek more than once?

One more thing. Is it so hard for bars to get rare kegs like this? I feel like 9 times out of 10 places like the Fort Worth Saucer put up fairly generic kegs and casks for their weekly tap, like Oaked Yeti and Cask Hop Devil or yet another Rahr keg. Good beers, yes. Rare, no.

Any of you in DFW who missed the BBA Human Blockhead did yourself a disservice. That beer was simply amazing. I wish I had more!

Can't wait for the Bourbon Buried Hatchet. I intend to stop by that day, and hopefully some of the other beers will be on as well

    Cheers,

I'm guessing here but... I believe BBL Blockhead will last until Wednesday, early Wednesday. Last night was slow and I don't think too many will go tonight for the Indian Wells Whiskey. Wednesday is going to be crazy by my guess and Blockhead should float at somepoint that day.

I don't work for a bar but it does seem harder and harder for bars to get rare kegs. The "power struggle" between TCT, Strangeways and Moth has left the Saucers with the scraps most of the time. With more and more craft bars opening things will be thinner and thinner. Best selection in Ft Worth seems to be Live Oak.

Strangeways working exclusively (well, for the most part) with Duff, has landed him some otherwise tough to get kegs. I imagine as one of the few, if not the only bar doing this, that gets him some special attention from Duff.

Regarding the other bars, you're absolutely right. The Moth, TCT, Holy Grail, Jack Mac's, those are single locations, and when you only have a couple of kegs to go around, it makes sense to give them to 1 or 2 locations when you can't give them to all of the Saucers or all of the Gingerman locations.
