Beers that you really enjoy, that are brewed in styles you don't care for.

For me, Schlitz Gusto. I'm not a fan of American adjunct lagers, but I was pleasantly surprised when I had this one.

New England Brewing Company - Friar's Quad. Typically, my preference in beer does not include dark fruits such as plum, fig, raisin, blackberry, etc., but either I was really in the mood for it, or it is just a good brew.

I wouldn't classify it as a "diamond" per se, but I did enjoy the complexities of the beer in comparison to others I've had previously. I will mention however, it is certainly no Delirium, nor is it a top-notch BSDA, but it is definitely worth a try.

Engelberg Pilsner from Upright Brewing. In a city full of great beers, this one is a real gem.

Firestone Walker Wookey Jack. Don't love Black IPA's, but loved it. The roastiness level is turned way down and the citrus way up.

I dislike the vast majority of Single IPAs, but Orange Whip is phenomenal

That's not the implication from the claim on their website: "...Bitburger Premium Beer is of course brewed according to the German Purity Law."

Maybe not, I thought hop oil was an adjunct. Point is its nothing special, but for me, its a diamond in the rough.

Awesome post... Completely 100% agree with the Allagash White...
That beer blew my old favorite Belgian White (Blue Moon) out of the water.
As my taste in beer changes, Blue Moon is way too sweet and doesn't have that Belgian 'sourness' to it.

Perfect example of a diamond in the rough, although I'm a little biased as I like Witbiers. :flushed: *Ashamed for not obeying the post.*
