Yes it was delicious - really, seriously amazing - but being annoyingly overcharged kind of took the edge off it for me, made it less enjoyable.

Do they have more? I am willing to pay in order to taste it. I have a bottle lined up in a trade and want to know if it could use some age or if it is ready now to crack out at a tasting.

A good bottle, but pricey. Nice to hang out.

But if it went to bottle shops, all three(?) cases, than a dozen guys would have all the bottles and few people would get a swing at it. At least this way I was positive that for the right price, I could have one. Same reasoning why Rare was 45-50 bucks. If you wanted one, you could get one. It takes the luck of walking into a beer store on the right hour out of the equation and makes it about who is willing to pay what the true market value of the beer is. Tonight, the market value of Bramble was 28 dollars. Because that's what we paid. Market for that bottle is far more than the 13-15 bottle shops would have charged.

Yes, it sucks I don't have a few sitting next to me in the cellar, but it would suck even more if some guy I never met had 6 and I never got to try it.

IMHO - it could use some aging. Tasty going down, but not a good finish at all, it feels like I drank a bunch of Vicks cough syrup. I have no idea if aging will help this, but it can't hurt. Blecch. Maybe some of whatever causes that will dissipate with age:slight_smile:

Thanks for your opinion. I will definitely sit on it of I don't get to try it before.

I disagree with age. It wont age poorly, but I doubt it will help it move beyond its current stage of sweetness.

Very happy to read this thread, I have been wondering the same thing about Bramble Rye for months. I was on that short list to get some, but I am not holding by breath after reading this...

I have no idea if aging will help (I am doubtful). But hey, it can't hurt:slight_smile: I'm all about the sweetness, I love me some sweet beer, and this one hit my sweet tooth just right. It's just the finish of the Bramble Rye that bugs me, even still this morning.

The finish might get a little bit better, but the sweetness and berries will fade. I personally plan on drinking my bottles this year. But I loved it! I wouldn't change a thing.
