Did cherry rye ever make it to NY?

yeah i saw the Stille Nacht Reserva. As ridiculous as the $51 price tag was, I was extremely tempted to buy one. Didn't happen but still very tempted.

 

What a price!!! For 60$ you can make a big trade with several beers!! And 1 or 2 snr 2010

I'm hearing next Tuesday January 8th as the new date that Cherry Rye is supposed to hit NYC stores. I'll believe it when I have 2 bottles in my hand and no money in my bank account.

 

I called Whole Foods Bowery yesterday and spoke to someone who told me they had only gotten one case and it was already gone. Figured that person was maybe mistaken and confused it with Coffee, but called back just now and someone else told me the same thing - one case and already gone.

Top Hops, WF Columbus Circle both saying they're getting it on Tuesday. Beer Table Pantry doesn't know when but is putting names on a list. (Good Beer says they don't carry it cause they're not independent.)

The WF Columbus Circle guy told me the Goose Island distributor is not releasing it til Tuesday so I don't know what the Bowery folks are talking about. Maybe they are just sick of me calling them.

 

I've had the same problem with WF Bowery. Tuesday is what I was told by 3 store owners, so unless WF Bowery got a shipment by mistake, they're talking about Coffee.

I plan on hitting up TH on Tuesday around 3pm. Will give everyone a heads up if they definitely have any.

 

Just went to Eagle and they still have multiple bottles of Reserva at $50.99. In case anyone is interested. I have a budget and won't be splurging on this one.

 

Anyone planning on hitting up WF or TH tomorrow for Cherry Rye? Supposed to get delivered in the afternoon, according to Ted from TH. I'm going to try and stop by around 5.

I'm going to try to hit Whole Foods on the way to work (around 11am) and then Top Hops after work (5pm). Hopefully it's not a shitshow. Should I even bother with wasting my time on New Beer?

Yeah, someone with that kind of work day is already lucky enough without being able to score Cherry Rye.

 

Not my normal work day. Going to the doctors at 9am to get a needle in my throbbing foot. Work near WF so gonna stop by after the appointment.​

 

I call that the perfect amount of pain. Enough to go to the doctor and conveniently pick up a beer on release day, but not enough that you need to stay home and miss out on the beer.

All in jest. Good luck on your search. God knows I've left work unannounced countless times for a beer.

For all the drama regarding the Westy thing, New Beer has been awesome and communicative about Cherry Rye. Never confirmed they were getting it tomorrow, but did confirm that they'd hold a bottle for me once they did get it. Let's just see if they follow through.

Going to swing by Columbus Circle WF after work too, since it was mentioned that they'd be getting it (earlier in this thread). Hopefully by the time I can get there, there will still be some.

 

Good to know it's not supposed to be delivered until the afternoon. I've got the day off tomorrow, so I think some lunch at Blind Tiger is in order before I make my way over to Whole Foods.
