I had a Harp on draught today at our local Old Chicago. It and Modelo Negra are 2 tasty imports that I do enjoy muchly.

Now that you mention it, I remember the Harp of my youth being similar to Mexican lagers like Modelo (not the Negra, that is).

When I saw this thread a couple of weeks ago or whenever, it occurred to me that I hadn’t seen Harp in forever. Then I checked out a new Wegman’s nearby and they had a stack of it. I’m enjoying one now. It’s been well over 20 years and many beer styles since I’ve had one so I couldn’t begin to say whether or not it has changed.

Running contraband beer from California to Oregon was also the subject of some slightly shorter features financed by BlitzWeinhard. Find two in this story from Willamette week:

The new Wegman’s in Chapel Hill has it, but otherwise I haven’t seen it in years either.

Tried Harp for the first time last week honestly from the bottle and like it quite a bit. I dig the bitterness and overall flavor. Would absolutely buy again!

I have only been drinking it for a few years, but have not noticed a change. Same grainy and malty bready flavors to me.
