The aroma was off slightly, but it tasted fine. Hopefully you just got a bad 4 pack.

Had one from 4/28 about a week ago and the nose is definitely back up to snuff. Much more pungent and fumy than the crappy one I had back in March. The bitter and sweet flavors were also married a lot better. Reminded me more of the awesome Hop Drops I remember drinking about a year ago. Let's hope they can keep it up.

Just had some with a date of 5/25 i think. Awful. I think I previously had the 4/28 and was amazing. Really disappointing.

Contact the brewery. They are making it right.

No longer ISO of HDR...so inconsistent, had a mid Feb batch, turrible, then had an end of March batch, not bad...but I'm not asking any of my NC trading partners to send me anymore of it...what it used to be a year ago, was awesome, it is a shell of it's former self.

I bought some of the 5/25 batch and it honestly sucks. I mean what the hell is going on here? Had no dry hop flavor, very bitter, & bland. I'd love to know if anyone knows why this beer is so bad now. Went from world class to pass.

It's been a month or so, and that batch, actually two sucked. I'd never guess there was Citra in it, the fruity notes were gone. It wasn't even average, one batch I poured out. To be fair NoDa made it right , but it's a shell from a year ago, for $13 bucks it's a big risk.

Drank one last night canned towards the end of May and it's still one of the best IPA's I've had.

First one I had I found fairly well balanced, had it for the second time just after drinking an Other Half Mosaic, and as a result of drinking it second, the HD&R tasted like a grassy malt bomb (dated within 3 weeks, so that wasn't it). Was a great reminder that a little palate cleansing can go a long way, and also learned to START with HD&R if I am drinking more than a few IPAs or DIPAs.

Drank my first one after drinking a growler of Mexi Cake so my taste buds were all off. Opened what looked like a 5/20/15 can last night. Wasn't what I remember from a year ago. In fact it wasn't even very good at all. The aftertaste was a hoppy bitter but also had this chemical like bitterness with it.

I wish I remembered the canning date, but I had the same chemical taste. The first two cans were not good at all, exactly like you describe (about 2 weeks old). But the last two cans from the same 4 pk were very good when I opened them days later (which was about 20-22 days after canning I think). Maybe the 20 days is the sweet spot. No clue, but I'm just not comfortable buying more than a 4 pk every once in awhile for research.

Yea luckily I only bought two 4 packs of it so don't really care that much. Hopefully the other one is better.

For what it's worth, Chad (their head brewer) say that he prefers them at three weeks after packaging.

Agreed. While it wouldn't use the adjective "awful" there's no doubt they're having some real consistency issues here. I'm done buying this beer for a while.

Had one on tap at the ballpark in downtown Charlotte (pic related, but not HDR) last week. Thought it was still delicious.

I don't think there has ever been any issues with the keg offerings. Appears to be a canning issue. The good news is that in a few months they will have their own brand new fanning line in the new location and will move away from the mobile aching unit they use now.
