At the end of the day, you paid an inflated price for a ticket because assholes are scalping them. While you definitely didn't recoup your $100 you got a couple of beers you wanted. If you're not struggling financially and the hit you took $4$-wise isn't a big deal I would just let it go and consider it a learning experience. You still have something you wanted and someone else has a ticket they really wanted....and they didn't get gouged for it.

Ignorance is bliss...You probably shouldn't have asked about the trade value since you likely already knew the answer and the responses here are probably making the loss $4$-wise hurt even more...

That said, you should still go through with the trade...You agreed to it. If it back out because you suddenly realized (via this thread) that you agreed to a bad deal that's kind of shitty. You already agreed to it and all trades (and trading communities) rely on trust that people will follow through with agreements. You should feel obligated to carry through, even if you've since realized it's a bad deal....Otherwise you really shouldn't be trading at all.

For sure. At the end of the day, a deal is a deal, and I will go through with it, the "rethink" post was more of a joke than anything, and nah, it doesn't really hurt, I'm just trying to learn about the beer market, since I know $4$ doesn't always work, so I'm trying to get thoughts and views on how scarcity of items or beer reflects on $s. This is not going to drive me into a pit of emotional despair or financial ruin by any means lol (is lol still hip by the way? I have no clue...)

I'm just glad my girlfriend has an affinity for morons!

LOL was never hip for an adult man to use. I don't even know if 'hip' qualifies these days

It's definitely good to ask if the answers won't ruin your week .

I'm relatively new to beer trading too (though I've done extensive trading in other things in the past) and I just read through the ISO:FT thread to get a sense of what people want and what they typically are willing to trade.

Commond around San Diego I should clarify. Any good bottle shop has them. Sanctification of course is not a year round beer - so when it dries up it's out for awhile. Right now though - everywhere.

Yeah, that seems more accurate. Once this batch is done (around LA it's basically gone) I won't expect to see it for several more months. Also around here it's $12.99, so YMMV on the price...

A few months? Pretty sure it's longer than that. Didn't RR go about a year plus between the two most recent batches?

You definitely should have held out and raked someone over the coals for all you could get out of them.........

Batch 6 not listed but prob 12/11 or something.

Yes. In alwaysanswerb parlance, "several months" is closer to "many" than "few." Specifically, I was thinking 8+, not knowing exactly how long it had been since the last batch.

    Scalping aside...

Yes you did get taken. You should have posted another ISO, you could have gotten a much better offer. That could be in terms of more beer or a rarer beer.

My advice to any new trader: First few trades should just be locals for locals and $4$. Good luck in the future.

Secondary market price aside, you received more than $18 worth of beer so I'd say you're just fine.

I gave mine away to a buddy who struck out. He's going to send me 4 bottles of DL.

You bought a ticket from a scalper at 6x face value with the sole intention of flipping it for beer, and you got absolutely buttfucked in the transaction.

So for my generosity I am rewarded, and for your greed you are punished.

    I like it.

Dude, I think you've got a good perspective all things considered, so you've (kinda) won there. Hopefully those 2 beers blow your kind and it ends up being worth it. Spilled milk stout.

Well, I'm certainly glad that you have read the entirety of the thread. As I said, I bought the ticket originally because I hoped the girlfriend could come with me, but that fell through via my own negligence , so the statement "sole intention of flipping it" is already incorrect. Whether or not you take me at face value is subjective to your thought process/ personal experience, so if you don't believe me, I can't do much to change that fact. I don't have many friends on BA, nor do I have many other friends who are craft beer enthusiasts (around the Chicago area I currently live in, since I have not been here for very long), but I'm glad that you have a wealth of friends who would appreciate your offer (which was generous). I do not try to be a bad BA or Rate Beer member, nor do I try to take advantage of others, but to understand the whole situation, please do me and other readers the courtesy of reading the entirety of the thread before you comment on a situation you aren't fully informed on. Again, if you don't believe what I said, I can't change your mind, but at least entertain the thought I posted this with good intentions of finding out about the beer market I hope to become a true, informed member on. Wish you all the best.

Well, I don't know about Coors, but maybe we can work out a Dark Lord for a 12 pack of PBR!
