This is my first homebrew. After letting it ferment for a week I added pellets to dry hop it . Not thinking, I swirled it real quick to get the pellets to mix in. It wasn't anything crazy but I did notice some of the yeast move around. I've read that shaking it can affect it negatively but this was just a quick light swirl to get the dry hop mixed in. Just wondering what everyone's thoughts are in this

Relax. It's ok. A swirl doesn't hurt a thing just don't go shaking it up that can accelerate oxidation.

I just dry hopped an IPA yesterday and just poured them in, didn't shake it and now the top of my beer has a solidly firm head of hops on the surface

Hops seem to settle nicely on the surface just as yeast seems to settle nicely back to the bottom.

You'll be fine, the yeast will drop back to the bottom. The only thing I'd be concerned about is oxidation but you should be fine.
