    Hey everybody,
When it comes to beer I am a rookie so please be nice. I haven't bought a keg in years. I bought a 50L keg for my birthday which doesn't start for about 24 hours. Out of excitement, upon getting home, I tapped my keg to pour myself one of those initial foamy glasses of beer (Just a manual pump). I DID NOT pump the manual pump at all as the keg is already pressurized but I did open the valve and pour myself and my wife a glass. I then realized the party isn't until tomorrow after finishing my glass (about 10-15 minutes). I immediately un-tapped the keg.
My question is, even though I didn't pump yet, by pouring those two glasses did I ruin my beer for tomorrows party? Should I be seeking a last-minute replacement keg if possible or will it not be completely flat.
Thanks in advance for any answers,
    Mark

I think it would be fine. Pour a glass tomorrow earlier in the day. If it's flat, order another. If it's fine, keep drinking. I'd assume that amount of carbonation would hold up fine over even a few days after tapping, but I'm not as knowledgeable as others here.

Btw, happy birthday and welcome to BA!

Welcome to the BA site, kingheadfake, and Happy Birthday. Your beer isn't ruined, so sleep well tonight and rest up for the party. I'm not a kegger to know the answer, but I'll bet that the answer is somewhere in the Home Bar forum, so take a look here to see if you can find a definite answer: https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/forums/home-bar.43/

Maybe a quicker way to get an answer is to call on a BA member who is a regular in the Home Bar and Homebrewing forum and always has answers for keg issues. Calling @billandsuz for some input here.

Welcome to BA and Happy Birthday! You should be OK on the carbonation bit but I am curious as to what brew is inside the keg? This way we can immediately cast judgment.:grin:

Had a kegger for a New Years Eve party that was ruined by a blizzard. Kept it good and cold and it tasted fine for couple days. Granted, that was many moons ago but you should be fine.
I and several fellow B/A members would be willing to stop by and randomly sample (as many as needed) said keg during the night to be sure it’s safe for tomorrow’s party. Just part of the service. Wink. Wink. Nudge. Nudge.
    Happy Birthday and welcome aboard!

It’s fine. Even if you had pumped it, it isn’t going to oxidize over night, and you didn’t effect the carbonation level all that much if at all.
