I remember being 12-years-old and stealing my friend's dad's Erdinger Weissbier after one of my mom's Miller Lites a little before that. Haha.. I hated both with a passion, but choked them down to try and look cool. I remember hating the Erdinger a little less. :stuck_out_tongue:

I don't remember what it was exactly, but I knew I enjoyed beer after it.

warm budweiser....no did not like. Turned me off instantly to what I already knew was crappy beer. I immediately gravitated towards hard alcohol instead before eventually returning to beer with the likes of Blue Moon and Shock Top. I used to think Blue Moon was just about the best beer out there, and I still enjoy it in the summer, but over the course of the last year I have seen the light. The funny thing is that I really got into beer because I hated not knowing what styles I liked and disliked. I would go to a brewery and not know what to order and end up resorting to some form of wheat beer because I knew I would like it. I hated most anything with any sort of bitterness, now I can't get enough of big hoppy flavored beers. It was like a switch flipped in my tastebuds.

So, long story short, it took me 10 years to have another budweiser from that first tasting. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had remembered, but I wouldn't exactly call it good either. Still tastes like piss.

It was a Michelob Ultra. 1995. We had the one person who couldn't drink, a second generation Pakistani-American, buy us a six-pack because he looked the oldest. After a beer and a half, I found it so disgusting I tried to add sugar to it and subsequently learned a chemistry lesson. If it hadn't gotten me buzzed, I wouldn't be commenting on it today.

I still like the jerk who bought it for me, though.

It was a Heineken, I was 16. I didn't like it but I kinda wanted more. So naturally I waited several years to have another.

    It was a so-so reviewed beer, and I stilll think it's so-so ... that's not an option.

I think it was a Guinness.

My first beer was a Boddington's. Hated it. It wasn't until I took a chance with craft that I actually enjoyed a beer, though Michelob AmberBock was inoffensive if I was out with friends and decided to drink with the rest.

It was an Oldstyle longneck when I was probably around 7-8 during a Cubs game, I remember thinking the taste was like drinking the sweat from my hockey gear. After that I stuck to hard liquor, when available , until I was in college.

Harpoon IPA, when I was about 10. I think the best that I can say is that I didn't completely despise it...I seem to recall thinking that it tasted more or less like liquified pine needles.

the first beer i ever tasted was a goose island honkers ale that my uncle gave me and i thought it was the most awful piece of garbage id ever tasted, by far the most bitter thing i'd had in my life. after that i went to college and started drinking cheap crap. the uncle came to visit for a football game and brought honkers again and this time i loved it which is what got me into craft beer

Before the internet was invented. Not that it would have mattered.

First job. 15 years old. Got off work washing dishes and the busboys must have had a good night as they invited me to go bowling with them. They left in their cars and I met them there on my bike. We grab a couple of lanes and started rolling. They were rock stars to a young guy like me, all of 18 or19 years of age. A bunch of beers just happened to show up. I was handled a Michelob and advised to keep it low. It was the nastiest thing I ever had. I was thinking "what's the big deal". I did not even finish it. I hid it behind some balls. My first beer.

Mine was a poorly treated Genny Red. Pretty sure it sat exposed to the sun in the back of a friend's older brother's pickup bed for who knows how long. It was a skunky mess and tasted horrible. I tried a few other Genessee beers in upstate NY a few years ago and they were pretty standard AALs, bad, but not to the same level as this vaguely remembered first beer.

None of the above. My Grandad and I were wandering around my parents property when he produced a Budweiser from somewhere within his "attire". I was maybe 5 or 6, not sure. He simply said that I need to try this and that it wouldn't be my last. It wasn't bad and I WAS thirsty, but he was right. It's in our blood.

First beer was a Budweiser. I was about 12 and me and my friend snuck it from my grandpas fridge in the garage. We hated it. Spit it out and then poured it out. Hated it and got in trouble for taking it. Lose Lose

Don't give up Pilsners completely, there are some great craft versions. Try Prima Pils from Victory.

My first beer was Milwaukee's Best Light, the BEAST, and I thought it was utter shit. Still do.
