SRBush already made my point here, I did the math before posting.

abogofit, the last bottle of Dinner you got came at a fair price I think...haha!

I need a real date for this sooner than later (assuming on the October release) before my girlfriend fills up every available weekend with apple picking, corn mazes and other fall themed things to do. Just give me one day Maine Beer Co.

    10-24 is the Dinner release.

Stopped at MBC on the way home from Baxter State Park, and casually asked if we'd see it again this year. Got kind of a funny look from the tap room dude and he goes "yeah October 24th". Maybe I missed the official MBC social media blast, or its getting announced officially next week.

Was told that it is the same batch size and operation plan as the release earlier this year that was generally regarded as smoothest since Dinner reached Heady proportions.

If I'm not mistaken the 24th also marks the return of ghoulschip and swish so that'll be a crazy weekend for Maine beer!

Ghoulschip release is on 10/24 at 4PM followed by a costume party. Kind of a bummer it's a late release, not their usual morning release. I would imagine that with the Dinner release it will be a pretty busy event.

Is Dinner something that stays available after the main release on 10/24? I'll be in Portland area the Thursday/Friday after the release and was wondering how I could get my hands or mouth on it. Thanks.

Bottles usually sell out day of release although last time they had some cases left over which lasted an extra day. On tap at the brewery it may last until you get there. Its worth a stop there either way - great place with tons of great beer!

Great. Thanks for the info. Was hoping it might be available on draft. I'll definitely stop by either way.

Do they do a lottery or anything? Is it just first come first served? I've never been to a Dinner release, but I'd like to make this my first.

First come first served. People start inning up early. Last time at 6am they came around and handed out tickets for your place in line so you could move around a bit more before they opened at 7am. They had 6 card swipers - some reserved for just Dinner cases and others for people who wanted to buy other things besides Dinner. The line moved fast compared to all the other Dinner releases.

Last release they had cases available the following day, so you're probably all set. However, news of a smooth release may prompt more people to show up this time too.

Yeah. but did they hold the cases, or where they leftover?

    They were leftover.

One case limit. But in June, you could easily get back on the line again for a 2nd case.

Cool. Seriously debating making the 4.5hour drive. Swish release really sweetens the deal. Now if there is an epiphany release, that may send it over the top

If you are willing to drive 4.5 hours, then get out of bed and get there nice and early. I think the fiasco of the previous release kept the crowds away last time. News of a smoother and much less time consuming release will likely bring people back. No guarantees of course, but if I am making that kind of drive I damn well want to make sure I get the beer....

^ this, last release I was in line at 4am and was 105th in line. even though cases were left over and I could have showed up at noon I prefer to be in a out at a Dinner release. Everyone was anticipating a shit show and we were all in and out quick and easy, news of the new checkout system I think would bring back previous people who didn't make the trip in fear of the craziness that took releases before.
With more releases that day, I'm sure everyone will be making the rounds through ME.
