Exactly. Casa 2.0 without the brewery friend peddling bottles for loons.

"How he sounds" on the internet has a lot to do with the fact if those people will give the beers he produces a shot. Honestly, the people in this thread are likely to be his loudest advocates if he makes spectacular beers. "How he sounds" goes a long way to put people off or turn people on to his beer. Criticism of "how he sounds" is perfectly valid at this point there is nothing else to go on other than that. I stand by the statements I made earlier. Jacob is by far probably the best at navigating the issue of being a brewer and interacting with his customers on a forum. He is informative, concise and transparent with what he can be. He is always polite, engages in friendly conversation, even if he is being criticized. Hell, my first real interaction with him was an infected can on Booming Rollers and I was complaining. He handled it perfectly and to a point where if I am trying to decide what to buy and I can't decide, I give his beer the slight edge. He has made more sales off of me with one interaction, than if he was even neutral towards me. That is an important lesson to know.

This is helpful. You have actually tasted the beers and you have found them enjoyable.

But again, I stand by my previous statements. The only thing I have recommended is to read how Jacob interacts and learn from that. That is simply all that Kyle needs to do. I don't think it takes any advanced degree or formal education to be able to communicate in a forum. I mean it isn't hard to see that there are finicky people here. I think we all are. A brewery does something we don't like and they are written off, never to be placed in the fridge again. But Kyle hasn't even had a chance to start yet. There is course correction that can be done, and that is why I am pointing it out. He can choose to go down the path of Iron Triangle and completely alienate what would have been the most loyal customers he had, before he even starts. Hopefully he learns that internet words don't mean anything and if he handles situations with class he can take the people who would have been an opponent into a proponent.

Also, 6-8 months may still not be enough time. Knowing how much red tape there is in certain areas, it can really delay the process of getting something up and going.

Seriously, just by admitting score manipulation you just alienated a lot of users. By having a piss poor attitude, you alienated more. I literally cannot imagine how you could have made this much worse for yourself from the get go.

So is it safe to say he is going the CASA route now since he is trading homebrew for established sours? Sure it isn't quite Cantillon but at least getting there.

Come on, guys. you know the drill. $4$, rarity for rarity and condo lambics for condo lambics.

I don't blame Kyle, I blame the guy who accepted the offer. If you are buying rare barrel beers you know enough about beer to realize an even trade.

So give away your homebrew prior to selling memberships, sell memberships, no longer give away but instead trade/sell. Wouldn't that be like a meth dealer giving you the great stuff to get you hooked for cheap and then constantly selling the lower grade crap to keep you coming back?

Beginning to think I watch far too many movies in my spare (ha, like that exists) time.

At least with CASA it wasn't the actual owner doing it...
