I guess I got lucky attending my first beer fest this year, Miami Beer Fest. The more widely distributed breweries that were there had their usual brews pouring which was fine, but I was completely blown away by the amount of Miami homebrewing outfits that were there. We're talking at least 20 homebrew clubs/nanobreweries that were pouring some great beers in a town that I thought was still behind in the craft beer game. Me and my girlfriend had a great time and all the reps for the big brands as well as the people pouring at the homebrew tents were knowledgable, friendly and informative. Would definitely go back if I were still living here next January.

For that one day of the year, its totally worth it. Very nice if you have a friend to crash there with, because you wont be able to drive home. I think its one of the, if not the, best beer festivals in North Carolina. There is almost a complete statewide representation present. Fullsteam was not there last year and that was slightly disappointing, but looks like there was this year. It always occurs around April 15th-20th, somewhere around there. I'll definitely be there next year
