Maple syrup. I love maple syrup. Growing up in VT I was practically weaned on it. For me pancakes are simply an edible sponge for me get more maple syrup in my face hole. I keep trying beers with maple syrup with the eternal hope that one will be good, but every single "maple" beer one either a) tastes like a fake corn syrup or other unnatural, not-maple flavor, or more often, b) doesn't taste like maple syrup at all!*

*- Although there is a good reason for this.... Simple sugars like those in maple syrup are quickly and completely fermented into boring old alcohol by brewers yeast. If the end result is just more alcohol then there are much better ways to get there than using using this godly nectar.

The label as always was killer, but the beer not so much, mood killer was more like it.

Chocolate. I feel chocolate malt tastes more convincing than actually adding chocolate. My favorite beer is Young's Double Chocolate, but for some reason to me chocolate seems to have a chalky, bitter, unpleasant taste. I just had a Sam Adams Chocolate Bock. It had the dark chocolate thing, but also had a Coca-Cola thing going on that I sometimes get with chocolate beers. Weird. All I'll say is chocolate either has to be the star and taste really rich and chocolaty or it's usually not too good in flavor.

Strawberries and peaches are hard fruits to work with in beer, but there a few examples that I enjoy.

On the other side, however, is tea. With the exception of a few chai stouts, I have yet to find a tea infused beer that I really enjoy.

Pineapple. It just makes beer taste foul.

But so im not a negative person, i really like prickly pear in beers if done right. Because ive had some that turned out too sweet for me.

Marz Community Brewing's Jungle Boogie is fantastic. It's infused with Rooibos tea. You can buy it online at The Beer Temple.

Mint. I love chocolate mint. Like a nice chocolaty stout. I keep hoping for a chocolate mint stout that doesn't taste like someone dumped mouthwash into a beer.

#1 Peanut Butter because it seems to be all the craze recently yet I haven't had one that is anything above a drain pour.
#2 Pretty much any sort of floral herb like coriander, lavender, rosemary, thyme, etc... they all taste like perfume to me, unfortunately. I've learned to stay away for the most part.
#3 Vanilla can be suuuuper hit or miss. Some of the best RIS I've had have included vanilla, but some of the worst have too :/

Blueberries and mangoes tend to overpower everything, in food and beer, but if they're actually added in the right amounts they can add some awesome flavors to beers. Especially lambics/ wild ales

Oranges. Tho I feel like they could work in a sour? Haven't come across any. Cherries overall.. I've been disappointed by every cherry beer that I've tried.

Just a facetious reference to people complaining about the flavors imparted by certain hop varietals

Very few people know this, but Schlenkerla's original name was Schinken. They were famous for brewing with smoked ham but had to stop that practice after the Reinheitsgebot was established. They've never been able to get that flavor out of their equipment. Isn't that right @TongoRad ?

    (I kid)

Yeah, but the beer has to be aged for a while to really bring it out
