Interesting. But I waited in line for 4 hours only to get 1 bottle of BCBCS, and went to about 10 stores afterwards and scored 0 more. Might to more comparable to say Casey bottles, since Glenwood springs is 3 hours from Denver. Ack, now we are pretty much off topic.

Suffice it to say, there is a "value" to rarity/difficulty to acquire that makes people want to trade for the good stuff, but in doing so they also need something of equal or comparable "value". So while Heady might not be that expensive, you're probably only going to go $4$ on something that isn't just a shelf beer, but required effort or timing to acquire, or whose distribution is limited.

Except available about 300 more days a year than BCBCS.

Yeah that's true. BCBCS is available for a short period of time to the whole country while Heady is available year-round to a very small part of the country.

I was trying to think of a good comparable but it's tough. Casey for sure, maybe dG?

Zombie Dust in the Chicago area is a decent comparison. Without making the trip to the brewery on whatever weekday it pops up on their to-go kiosk, you're looking at a hard-to-find $20 six pack.

Not a trade post that I do, goes by, without a return of "Can you get Mexican Cake?".

That happens to us all, based on hype around state breweries where we are located.

I echo everyone else. "Can you pick up some pirate bomb?". No I cannot. It sells out in hours and wasnt even released this year.

When i set up an iso:ft thread i inevitably get asked by no less than 3-4 people do i have morning wood or snowed, which are both super limited barrel aged beers that always sell out leaving many people who waited in the 4 hour lines without bottles.
I respond: no i waited in the line and got nothing for it so I don't have them but i do have other great beers by Funky Buddha and other Florida locals to which they rudely respond with silence and ignore every subsequent bm i send them thereafter. To them i say good luck getting some from me when i do land some at the next release because i wont trade with rude people like that anymore.

I think this happens to everyone. I get asked for Darkness nearly every time I trade (even I had to trade for it this year) and, strangely, TG stouts even though I live like 10 hours from the brewery.

One of the downfalls of the game I suppose.

Same here before the Morning Wood and Snowed in people were looking for practically anything from funky buddha especially Last Snow. Now you can't do a trade without someone asking for Morning Wood or Snowed in. Common sense should kick in that if I did not list it in my FT then A either I could not get it because they were both ridiculously limited bottles to get or B I drank them already. Nothing worst than the trader that responds to your ISO and asks Hey do you have Morning Wood and Snowed in.............If I did it would be listed in my FT dummy !!

...but you seem to be offering plenty of beer that you didn't have to struggle with an online ticketing system and then go to an all day sh*tshow to obtain for Dark Lord (and you posted your DL iso the day after your mini rant). Based on your logic, you should've only offered ANTEAD and a pre-trade for Hunah for Dark Lord...and the kicker is that a $4$ swap of other half should easily land you the DL (and other ISOs) you seek.

I live in NY and it takes me an hour to an hour and a half to get to OH and I have to battle with LI->BK traffic both ways, but my trade partners who want it, get it. There was only one release where cans sold out while there was still a line, the Street Green release. When I can get there early, I do...but most of the time, I head over in the early afternoon and grab cans with no lines, fill some growlers, sip a beer and then on my way home. Plenty of times, cans last into the next day. You living so close means that you don't have to get their early at all.

Trading isn't about Beer X required this to get it, so I only want beer that also required the same effort...it is about, I have something you want and you have something I want. If you choose to ignore what people want, then you simply won't get your ISOs filled...simple as that. Consider yourself lucky that your trade partner doesn't say "bye" when he asks for something you have access to and you say, meh...that requires too much effort to get. That trade partner can easily find someone else willing to make the effort.

At the end of the day it is about relationships...you don't want to trade with people not willing to put in any effort to help you out...or at least you will put minimal effort in on your end to keep them happy.
