I attend a monthly beer share in which we have a captain of negativity. I asked to put the Wisco football game on & he had to chime in. "Why do you care? We live in PA!" "I have my sights set on going to Wisco for a Po.D. at some point." "Why there?" "I have sent three people there & I feel like it's my turn." "Ah, [bump] the Midwest. It's just a buncha flyover states!" 8=O I have read that term, but NEVER heard it uttered! Twelve (12) states enCANpass the Midwest (despite this site's boundaries), ranging from eastern Ahia to western NoDak, & as far S as Misery. OH, MI, IN, IL, WI, MN, ND, SD, NE, KS, MO & IA. His dismissiveness aces him outta (in this group) Surly (which we JUST got distro of here in PA!); Toppling Goliath; Schlafly & SO many others. I just shook my head at the ignorance. It is Zen Buddhism: Those who speak do not know & those who know do not speak. I cherish my 2006 & 2007 visits especially & I hope to return soon. I know that Uncle AL @feloniousmonk & his cat(s) want to see me again. I hope that all yinz have a great Thanksgiving & rest assured that I'm drinking some Midwestern beer, if not today, inna near future!
