After testing a bit here and there I'd like to suggest a minor modification to the Usefulness indication procedures.

I look at my reviews and I get a clear visual indication of being unable to upgrade or downgrade my own reviews, which is as it should be.

However, I do not get any visible feedback when I return to the other reviews of a beer a few weeks later as to whether I may or may not have already up ticked or down ticked a particular review, i.e., there is no visible (to me) visible feedback that I have already indicated my opinion on the usefulness of the review.

While true that there is a confirmation at the time I make the usefulness judgment, but I'm not able to keep in memory 2 weeks later that the judgment was made but no other visible effect, and so I may wind up making the same judgments over again to no effect except burning up a wee bit of computer time and decreasing my willingness to take the time to indicate my view of the usefulness of a review.

Correct. You get the initial visible that your vote was cast, but nothing after that. Displaying your vote would require additional database calls each time the page is loaded (potentially millions per month), which is something we like to avoid.

Understood. I suppose that’s less demand than acknowledging duplicate votes.

Yes, and the system ignores duplicate votes.
