Friend who lives in Amsterdam got through on the Westi Hotline, got an appointment, drove 3 hours (300kms) to the middle of Beligum to pick up 2 cases of 12's, and 2 more six packs of 8's accross the street at the cafe. Stopped in Bruges on the drive back. If I don't count the flight back to Seattle, this is still the longest I've ventured for beer.

I have driven to Jester King a couple times. 250 miles each way.

    Worth it!

JUST for beer... I'm at 302 miles from Chicago to St Louis for BA Abraxas. Hoping to beat that soon with road trip to Vermont / Maine which will be ~1000 miles one way, Wooooooooo! Gotta love a good road trip

I've done the Vermont trip. Hell, I just went cross-country. My friends who were moving to Seattle asked me to join them on their journey. The first thing that I thought of was BEER!!! All told, I've probably gone about 4,000 miles for beer.

can't say i ever traveled more then 25 miles for beer, it's a wallet busting hobby without the extra gas, but when i take day trips with the wife&child, beer available in the area is a big factor in deciding where to go.

Totally depends on what it's for. I got up at 4am a few years back and drove 1000+ miles round trip for beatification release but I made a weekend out of it. Dropped a pretty penny on a couple cases but worth the trip. Highly unlikely I would do that again for any other beer.

I won't make a specific drive for any beer, but I do plan trips around hitting up a brewery in whatever area I am heading though/to.

Labor Day weekend 2014: I would say I officiallly went on a road trip of 3 hours just under 200 miles to check out a brew/pub.

I used to do cannonball runs up to VT for Hill Farmstead and Alchemist. I'd go on Wednesdays when Alchemist was canning and first day HF was open. Leave LGA rental car place at 5:30am drive approx. 350 miles to HF. Then hit up the Alchemist cannery back when it was open. Then grab a late lunch and drive back to NYC and finally get home around 11pm.

I did fly out to LAX and drove to Buellton, CA this last Memorial day weekend with the express purpose of hanging out and drinking at Firestone Walker Barrelworks. Was lucky they had some of the bottled sours.

I've considered going to Vermont on more than one occasion. It's like 1300 miles round trip to do so and 23 hours of driving. I would have to have another reason other than beer to do it though.

I live about 80 miles away from Russian River. The number of times i've made that drive is frankly embarrassing.

That's not bad considering the kind of brewery it is. I wouldn't be embarrassed to take that drive many times. Some people commute to work farther than that.

I went to VT with the gf for vacation this past June. It's like 300+ miles from me. Miserable drive. I took advantage as much as I could to get some stuff while I was there and still make it a vacation with the lady. There's no way I'm making that drive just to stand in line for who knows how long just to get beer that I'm not even guaranteed on getting.

As soon as I can get free of the chains in the salt mine I'm currently chained to, I' flying to Mexico City to try some Házmela Rusa, so, drive to the airport, about 9.7 miles, flying into Mexico City, about 689 miles (and, if my boss reads this, just joking about the salt mine:grinning:)
