150 miles to Monk's Café for PtY. Between hanging with some good folks, the craft beer shop in Jersey on the way back, and all getting to try Supplication in the back bar it was well worth the trip.

Exclusively, the distance from my couch to the fridge, which is roughly 20 - 25 steps. Depending upon your natural gait.

Drove 35 miles to the Bruery once, it took about 35 minutes to get there. Traffic hit before we left and it took an hour and a half to get home.

I'm considering driving an hour each way to hunt in PA for beer we don't get in NJ. Jai Alai is at the top of the list. And Good Gourd if it's distributed in PA. Pumpkin hunting 2014.

I live in Los Angeles, so I go as far south as San Diego (150 miles) and as far north as Paso Robles (180 miles).

902 Miles round trip [Long Beach --> Santa Rosa] for Russian River. Yes it was worth it but I will probably fly next time.

The Bruery is 60 miles from the house, and I go there pretty often. I've dropped everything I was doing to get Grey Monday before. As far as liquor stores, most good liquor stores are up to 50 miles away from the house. I'll usually do a trip every couple of weeks and hit up all the places in San Diego that get the Bruery hoarders society allotments, and are guaranteed to have BCBS, Parabola, etc releases when they come out. Never had to drive further than that for a beer though.

There is Liquor Store in Santee that get's a case of Dark Lord in every year and has unopened bottles on the walls but he refuses to sell them to the public. Hoping to eventually do a trade for a bottle on here.

As an urban resident, if I'm not walking I'm taking the bus or the subway, so I'm not willing to go that far. Sometimes I have access to a car, though, and in such cases I'm still not willing to go that far. So much beer so close to home, as Raymond Carver might say.

BUT when I'm traveling I usually have a car, and I'm happy to go out of the way to sample brew. When my better half suggested a vacation rental in Vermont last summer, I said YES YES YES, and I'll be stoked during an upcoming visit to my family back in Santa Cruz to get a chance to visit Sante Adairius.

I usually wouldn't drive all that far, unless something great became knowingly available a few hundred miles away. And just a heads up, if you live or are in the Chicago area, Lone Wolf at Halsted and Randolph normally has Zombie Dust on tap for $7.

You were very likely in my area. The deeper I get into this hobby, the more I realize that I am going to have to make some road trips to find the good stuff. Im in rural hell.

I just got back from a 2200mile round trip hitting about 8 breweries and various stores for beer. We did other things but the prime objective of the trip was to hit all the big breweries.

Being blessed with selection in Grand Rapids I've never really felt the need to go on a trip to seek something out. As the beer boom continues to take over this city, there's a greater likeliness that it comes here than the opposite - IE, Deschutes launching here in October.
