This was posted on the Brewers Association web site for beer related Governmantal Affaris. Can someone give this some context? Does this give the TN BA's some hope in 2013? TennesseeSigned by the Governor and becoming law, S.B. 2167 requires the alcoholic beverage commission to report to the State and Local Government Committees of the Senate and House of Representatives by January 30, 2013 all of the following: (1) A proposal of recommended rules and regulations regarding restricting the sale of certain high alcohol content beverages; (2) A recommended definition of "high alcohol content beverage"; and (3) Information on how other states regulate the sale of such high alcohol content beverages.
Didn't clink on the link, but does this have anything to do w/ the legislation that we pushed thru due to the prospective SN expansion?
No, this bill is regarding a legislator's request for the state to ban pure-grain alcohol after an underage girl died from alcohol poisoning in Jackson, TN. Instead of banning Everclear and such, the legislature asked the ABC to come up with a system to regulate pure-grain alcohol differently than wine and other spirits.
