This may be a really stupid question, but I recently purchased some District 96 brews and the description for many of their beers includes mention of snake fruit, with one even saying: "Our signature D96 snake fruit finish". Do they really add actual snake fruit (Salak) to their beers or this just some kind of marketing gimmick?

They may have used the actual fruit before, but generally I think the idea is their house profile has a snakefruit character. I've never had the fruit before so I got no idea if that's accurate, but I really love D96. One of my favorite under-the-radarish breweries in the area.

I've been drinking District for years. It started off as an in-joke that became part of their identity and brand. There is definitely no snake fruit in their beers.

Snake fruit or not, their brews are phenomenal. Probably the best New England TIPA and QUIPA I've ever had.
