Just tried a DR 1 and 2 (improperly stored in a 70 degree closet) and both were flat. I'll be curious to hear how others have turned out.

I'm told all 12 have been in a dedicated beer fridge @ 50-55 degrees this whole time, I trust his word - all were cold. I know not to let them warm back up or Game Over so.....they now have a permanent residence in my fridge.....all 12 of them in 2 6ers.

I've kept my DR12 Stockpile (along with all my "special" beers) in an unused Kitchen Cupboard above the fridge. Figured it would be awesome because my 4'11" Fiancee can't reach them plus they are out of the way, and in the dark - far enough from the oven not to get heated up too much (if at all) If I want something I just pull it out the stash the night before and pop it in the fridge till the next night.

After doing some reading I see that I may have been doing it wrong to long term storage. Fear was born when I had a couple not so awesome bottles of DR12, Figured out those were from a 6er that was given to me by a friend....she may have heated/cooled them at least 3 or 4 times and then I got them from her fridge and just stuck them in the stash - they warm back up to room temp and then I stick them in the fridge......not so good.

Had a DR12 from one of the 6ers I personally bought then stuck in the stash - no light ever hit them and they have been at about 70 degrees since Day 1. It still kept it's proper flavor so am I doing it right (or not as wrong as I thought?)

New to stashing beer so please forgive my ignorance.

Not sure on the exact answer for you, but I've kept 3-4 DR12's @ a constant 52-55F, several more in a temp controlled chest freezer with temps ranging as low as 40 and as high as 68 (but virtually always around 55F, and then I have 1-2 DR12s in the closet @ a constant 70ish. I wanna do a blind tasting to see if I can determine which is which.

Of course I'll wait until at least the 1 yr aging mark recommended by St. Arnolds that many people seem to ignore/forget and call it a shitty beer. Will report my findings either on the DR12 review page, or a thread on here.

Above the fridge may not be the best spot just because A) when the oven is on, the kitchen's ambient temp can rise and B) any heat coming off the fridge will rise and hit the beer.

If anyone in Austin wants some DR12, I've got three 6-packs that I'm willing to part with. They're just taking up too much room.

Warm air rises. The floor is the coolest place in most any environment.

[IMG]DR12 is drinking pretty good right now. It's mellowed out very well. Each sip is subtle and sophisticated. Getting really excited to see where DR12 goes as far as aging. Hell I might even be down to trade some of my rarer beers for properly stored DR12.

According to the Saint Arnold news letter DR13 will be released March 18th.

Luckily, I will be home for this one.

I may send my mommy to get some. Are they expecting this release to be about the same size as DR12?
