I've seen on YouTube a few people using the Coopers DIY brew kit. I myself am just getting in to home brewing (have yet to brew) my question is, is this a good way to start? Also, is this a good product that I could use down the road. Or should I go a different route. Has anyone used this before and would you recommend it?
Thanks for any input and advice

I think those are re-branded Mr. Beer kits...as in I believe Cooper's bought them. Googled a few of them, and they seem to have upgraded the look, but yeah, they seem to be the same deal as Mr. Beer.

IMHO, those kits are for other people to buy for you as gifts. Not for people who think they'll actually end up brewing. Most of that stuff won't be used in your everyday brewing of 5 gallon batches. The pricing is about the same as a proper beginner's brew kit from Midwest or Northernbrewer.

    Anyway, I'd skip it.

I did what Ventura suggested about a year ago and it served me very well. Read the book, then brew your first batch. You should feel pretty confident after reading the book. I've probably brewed over 30 batches in this last year and moved to all grain about 3 months ago. Good luck.
