DL 11-14 anyone pop these recently?

I just popped a '14 last weekend.

It had mellowed a bit from back in April. If you like that sweet apple taste that DL can have, you'll probably like the 14.

I haven't cracked earlier vintages for a bit. Others will have to chime in on 12 and 13 to say if they're still soy sauce-o-riffic.

 

I think 2011 is drinking incredible right now. The 2012 I never cared much for but it has been a year since I last had it last.

 

Did a 5 year vertical 10-14 a month or 2 ago. I thought the 11 was by far the best with the 10 second. The 14 was IMO way better than the 13 and the 12 was still terrible.

 

I'm still sitting on 8-11 got break em out sometime.

 

I just has a 12-14, fantastic.

 

Had 14 a couple months ago, just as I remembered it when I had it on tap, still sweet.

Had '04 - '14 a few months back.

'11 = Decent, but you can tell they went overboard with peppers.
'12 = Not terrible, but not great.
'13 = A return to decadent sweetness, drank excellent.
'14 = One notch above '13.

For what it's worth, you need to break that '09 out ASAP, it is drinking SO good. '09 was drinking better than the BA versions we had (not vanilla or bourbon... ... )

 

Did '11-'14 recently at a share, my first experience with DL. I dropped '13 and '14 in alongside some other folks' '12 and '11 to round out the lineup. Overall consensus was 11 > 13 >= 12 > 14, where '11 was the clear winner and '14 was the clear loser and definitely would benefit from more time. This was both my assessment and the collective assessment in terms of how quickly the respective bottles were emptied.

I'll be doing a 6-year vert '09-'14 at a share soon, so I look forward to reevaluating that opinion, but I'd say hold off on the '14 for now -- it showed a ton of potential but just wasn't quite there yet.
