I would say arrival time also has something to do with it. I got there at 7:30 even though I had C tickets. I saw A LOT of people arriving and getting right in line for bottles. I knew I was going to have to wait so didn't mind it. That's why I reupped on bottles from the cooler for the line.

That's not what I recall. At least ask if you can crack vintage lam next time, it wasn't until spilling occured that my assistance was necessary.

I didn't read through this whole thread because, frankly, I got lazy. I'm just wondering if anyone tried the Moskatel DL and what your thoughts are? It's the variant I bought, but wasn't able to try. I've heard it's sweeter (due to it being a wine) and made the DL smoother. Just looking for some opinions.

Those scratchoffs were hard as hell! Borrowed the keys of the guy in front of me, finger nail did not cut it.

Agreed. While it may be "fun" to scratch to see if you are a winner, that little thing causes a bottleneck in the line. And over the course of the day it adds up.

Those clowns in that picture stood by the entrance the whole day. They never got more than 10 feet inside the grounds...

They were actually cool people. I had lunch next to them and then shared a couple bottles and I got to try bbpt5 and a disgusting fff beer that I can't remember the name of, lol.

This was my fifth DLD, and it was by far the longest wait. When you're still in line two hours past the posted time and it interferes with your babysitter arrangements, and you can't drink and enjoy the wait because you have to drive yourself home, yeah, I guess I'm one of "those" complainers. However, keep in mind that there are people in attendance who have more to worry about than just making sure they catch the shuttle back to their hotel before passing out.

In the DLD "pre-ticketed era", our group was always near the front of the line because we got there at 4am, and we got our DL allotment right away. During the "ticketed era", we still get there at 4am, and got A tickets at the in-person sale at the brewpub. Tough life, I know, to have to "settle" for E tickets this year, but we weren't sure if they were going to do in-person sales due to the the name-printed-on-ticket deal.

There is always room for improvement, and if 3Fs doesn't hear it, nothing will be done about it. We can't all get on the "3Fs doesn't give a shit" bandwagon, because they obviously do care. Most of the gripes over the years have been addressed with this new "festival" atmosphere. They tried to address the bottle line, but it's still a mess. Something to work on for next year.

Can someone confirm what type of barrel was used to age this year's DL Muerte?
