It might make you sad but it is anyone really surprised by this? The economy is in the toilet and if you're already a BA and struggling to meet ends meet, you get to go to DLD and pay for your trip or your bills if you live by there just by selling one bottle of the variants. Craft breweries are the only idiotic companies I know of that sell a luxury good at a price point that people can make 100% to 400% profit on if they just get home with the product safely and put it on eBay. It takes all of about a day of fun and not being clumsy to turn a stupid high profit off of a single bottle of beer, I'm not surprised that more and more people are doing it. I also don't know of any other luxury good that you don't have to sit on at all to have those kind of margins.

Its funny how they put the starting bid so high. Even that pisses off people that buy on eBay so unless the starting bid is reasonable they don't get sold even if they would've gone for that much.

Apparently you have never seen me in the Kitchen Supply isle on Black Friday...people go nuts for the New Zealand scented dish soap. 800% mark up on the 'Bay, no doubt.

There was a guy walking around saying that he would pay $200 cash for any BA dark lord that anyone got. Said he had $2700 in cash so we should find him no matter what. Clearly not too bright.

Question to those who picked up BA Alpha Klaus and Behemoth, where did you get this? I did not see it advertised in the line, so I assume after all 3 groups went through they sold extras of everything?

Yea, not bright at all. That's exactly the type of guy that gets pick pocketed and ends up in tears.

I got a BA Cherry Klaus from the sale tent located to the right of the brewpub. They had Klaus w/cherries, Klaus w/plums, and Baller Stout (and probably some other stuff) for probably the first hour after the gates opened.

Dammmmmmmmit, we went straight to the pub and stayed there for probably an hour. I do not regret this decision, but while waiting in line for the first 10 minutes I could have picked them up.

I personally couldn't justify spending $50 on a bottle of one of these variants.... Got a winning scratch-off and gave it to another guy in our group who didn't win but wanted to buy one.

It's not that I have a problem with this price point as a blatant cash grab move by FFF, I was just much happier going home with 2 Rye'd Da Lightning, 2 live a Rich life and a Mutiny and the Mollusk for the same price. To each his own, I guess.

I was fortunate to be able to get a bottle and it's out of 688.

What all did they have on tap in the pub?

Well they had rolling keg taps throughout the day I believe and we only got to try Vanilla Dark Lord and BA Alpha Klaus.
