    Homer
: (chuckling) I did it! Second in line, and all I had to do was miss eight days of work.

    Man
: With the money you would have made working, you could have bought tickets from a scalper.

Let's not forget about the thousands of people that will be willing to trade a bottle on the spot @ DLD.

As an individual who clearly has a passion for craft beer, it seems a bit shortsighted to think that you would be unable to come away with any Dark Lord via trades, asking the general community, etc. for an IP transaction on DLD.

EDIT: What @sbxx and @a_beckman25 et al. are saying.

Could always do that but getting them yourself is more fun.

Would never have been a worthless trip though, made sure the trunk was packed full of stuff before heading home.

Seemed to be over 100 people there waiting early Sunday morning from all over. Grand Rapids, Indianapolis, Dayton, Milwaukee....

Talked to one older guy who said he lived just a few blocks away and wasn't able to get tickets yet, couldn't believe they didn't do it yesterday (or the week before), and was getting frustrated. Fun hearing his story about having Nick deliver a keg to his house when 3 Floyds was just getting started.

For something like that they really should set aside a certain number of tickets for Munster residents only.

Like when people get upset when there are 2,000 GA ticket holders asking then constantly if they want to sell a bottle on the way out? Fuck that.

They do set aside a certain number of tickets for local residents they just haven't released them yet.

What do you think IP sales are for? If they set them explicitly aside for Munster residents you'd be trying to get those too.

A weekday 8pm IP ticket sale would be a great way to keep te tickets local. They should really sell the IP tickets before the online sale. It would also give out of Towners a better chance online.

Ya, we had Group E last year. The 4+ hour wait sucked but we were with cool people and the bottle share we had was probably the highlight of the day. Had a few guest taps at up to $15 for a small pour (Black Albert I think). Regular DL on tap is nice but you can only drink so much of that in one day. The BA DL taps all sold out before you could even get up there through the line to buy em.

All stuff to be expected in a festival of this size though. We still have most of our bottles from last year and the year before. We've only cracked em with friends/family and the struggles you go through to get them are what makes them valuable to you and no one else.

That's why I'd never be a dick and ask someone to sell me a bottle after they went through all the trouble....would rather get em myself or not at all and work a trade later.

    Really? Fuck me.

Dunkin Donuts is a nice treat whenever we find one though. Not a single one in the state of MN.

If u have ga tickets come have a good time and I'll sell u a dark lord at cost. I would have been pissed too if I missed tickets put I would still have fun had I got ga tickets. To me, DLD. Is 90% about meeting up with some fellow ba's drinking world class beers and 10% about the dark lord. It brings everyone together for a great time. Make the best of it man and get tickets next year!

    Because it's about the event!

But you could just have bought GA tickets then.

    Because it's about the beer!

But then you can just buy them on Craigslist/MBC.

I'm glad I got my GA tickets. I will be bringing some BBPt5 and some Black Notes to secure a couple Derk Lerds.

I guess I fucked up by giving up my reserved GA code. Could of bought the tickets for backup but figured another member might need them more than me.

Seemed to be a pretty solid thing for tickets last Sunday. They tweeted out twice during the week, "stay tuned for BA beers and IP DL ticket sales info". BA beers were released Saturday so I figured it was go time for Sunday tickets based on that and the last 2 years of IP ticket sales. I guess it was wishful thinking on my part...

Should've bought the GA tickets then put it up for trade for group tickets and then wait for the crickets swarming your inbox like the some hopeless idiots trying to make this exact trade.
