Naaah, I got D which kinda sucks... Glad to go though! We're thinking of leaving about 8am. I think it's about a 2 1/2 hour drive, so with the time change I would hope we are there about 9:30am or so... You?

I'll be a first time DLD-er this year and, other than the limited selection of BA variants during the later groups in past years because of the way the Golden Ticket process was operated, I don't understand the lesser desirability of those tickets. Would someone please explain? Based on what I've seen and read about how the day goes, I'd rather spend it drinking and milling about without having to lug around my allotment. Is this all due to the assumption that BA variant selection will happen as it has in the past?

And yes, I have Group E tickets.

    Hmmm... separating groups by color.
    Complaints about Group E:
    • No BVDL
    • Longer lines due to delays in clearing earlier groups
    • Have to stay until the end (makes for a long day if you get there at 6)
    • More drunk people = more cutting, pushing, shoving, and otherwise rude behavior

This is the biggest complaint imo. Not only delays in clearing earlier groups but invariably there will be people from prior groups who wait until Group E to get their allocation thus adding to the longer lines in Group E. Stay in your groups everyone

    Benefits of Group E.

    - Can jump in at the end of the line and wait 15 min for bottles (did the last 2 years)
    - Don't have to get there super early and/or wait an hour to get in.
    - Some people work Saturdays. Can get away with going only for the last 5 or so hours.
    - More drunk people

Do we even have a guarantee of BVDL making an appearance? There have been at least 2 new variants ever year. I would have bet that regular bourbon would have been there last year and wasnt. I got a regular bourbon dark lord in 2012 at the very end, that was all that was left, and that is the one I was planning to pick if given the option of all 4.

And to be totally fair, if they did sell fewer allotment tickets this year, then the later groups might move faster than last year.

It wont move faster, but it might get done earlier. There were more people in 2013 than 2012. C was done just as it was starting to get dark in 2012. 2013 E went until almost 10.

Curious if all group tickets are numbered sequentially (i.e., no gaps across all tickets) & across groups as well (Group A #s < Group E #s). Mine are for E and are in the 8000s and sequential. Granted even if they are all sequential they might have started at something like #1001. But if 9k was the approx total number of sold tickets last year, less the 2k in GA tickets this year, then that should leave about 7k for group tickets. Not looking for a ticket number roll call here, just thinking out loud more than anything. Please ignore
