I emailed founders to see their take on it and honestly was not expecting a response. this is what they said:
" My coworkers here at the brewery--brewers, owners, quality, taproom, etc.--have different philosophies in terms of checking in on BeerAdvocate reviews. It wouldn't be fair for me to state anything in general on behalf of the brewery because it wouldn't, and couldn't, be representative of each individual's take on and relationship with BeerAdvocate. I would offer up that some of my coworkers follow BA threads and reviews more closely than others. But part of what makes working here cool is that every employee is encouraged to live his or her own dream--nobody is told what or how to think about the beer community, at least not in definite terms. Things like checking in on BA reviews and talking to our taproom customers (especially Mug Club Members) about their opinions of new one-off beers that we have on tap is a personal decision for each member of the Founders Family. And s/he will do with that information as s/he pleases. Positive reviews of a new beer on BA can play a role in the feedback loop that we're all a part of when a new beer is released, but there are certainly other factors that are also top of mind...

That's perhaps a bit too philosophical.

Regardless, I think we'd all agree that BeerAdvocate is an awesome place for people to discuss and track their beer journeys, learn about new beers, and be part of a growing but close-knit beer community.

I will be sure to pass this thread along to our brewing team to see if anybody wants to pitch in a thought or two. Thanks for sharing it with us.

    Cheers!

no, that is wrong. there are no rules against reviewing infected beer.

    if rather you mean

that's fine. i disagree, but at least it's something subjective so you can't be outright wrong about it.

When I blogged about Gansett's FEST brew last year they made a post of it on their own blog with a link. I ended up getting a thank you and a lot of hits. It's an awesome beer and I said so, maybe that's why they did it. I know they were just searching for anything on them posted in the last day/week on blogs, but it was still cool.
