Do buyouts really impact the beer?

Leffe is a beer I have noticed change quite dramatically since the buy out. I mean I went to buy Leffe remembering really enjoying it, and then I had a "wow this is not what I remembered." Post buy out did in fact change things.

I haven't seen it at 10 Barrel yet, their small batch stuff is still really great. I notice that one or two of the bought out breweries lines (like GI's Honker Ale) gets national distribution, yet GI still produces the "sour sisters" to rave reviews. I live in an area where craft is exploding, 18 breweries in Boise area, and more on the way. The beer manager at the local Albertson's says he can't put more on the shelf without losing something else, for every one that gets added, one gets taken away. And that's where AB INbev's clout comes in, putting Goose IPA, Redhook, etc on the supermarket shelves leaving less space for local/regional craft. Its become quite the battle for the regional brewers for supermarket shelf space. (Pennsy BA'ers be like "What's supermarket shelf space?")
