I was buying cases often from TapRm back in Spring 2020 since everything was shut down, and they had a reasonable selection and prices. Mostly Jack's Abby lagers. Of course, now everything is open, and TapRm selection and prices suck, so no more case shopping there. I also buy cases of mine or my wife's favorite beers when we travel far on the way home, like at the Alchemist.

In contrast for the time I was there a fellow sitting at the bar next to me ordered multiple pints of the same beer. He was drinking:

“O.G Pils Legendary Philly Lager - American Lager

    4.9% ABV

This is our take on a family recipe dating back 6 generations. Our very pale American Lager has been built on a base of pale 2-row barley, 6-row barley, and flaked maize to create the most thirst quenching and neutral flavor profile possible. Very light body and drinkable.”

I have had this beer before and it is indeed quite drinkable.

    Cheers!

Rarely. When I do it's Schlenkerla Marzen of, if fresh, Toppling Goliath PseudoSue.

I have never bought a case of any craft beer to my recollection. I’ve bought a few 30 packs of Hamm’s for $11.99 a few times in the past ….I guess there was the $3.99 16oz 6ers as well but figured why not splurge for once on beer!

I only purchase beer by the case If I'm putting in an order at Bev Mo For Sam Adam's Just The Haze (a non alcohol beer) They can't keep it on the shelves.. I believe the store policy is one case minimum to do a special order. (although I would probably order a case anyway...it's that good.)

Is the taproom the only place the beer is available? I can see where you might order pint after pint of a beer you really loved in a taproom, if that was the only place you could get it (and it's only available on draught).

There are some small "nano breweries" in town like that, but otherwise most places here in pdx distribute and/or sell cans.

I buy a few 12 packs SNPA and Modelo Negra on sale it's cheaper than buying a case. When I go back to the East Coast to visit I will buy cases of Sweetwater blue.

Mainly buy 4,6 or 12 packs but always buy a couple of cases of Point Special lager.

Used to buy the Sam Adams variety 24 packs at Sam's Club a couple times a year. Does that count? One time Sam's had cases of Schlafly Pumpkin, that was awesome.

I have only purchased a case of the same beer a couple of times over the past couple of decades. Once, when I was driving from the Cleveland area to Louisville, I purchased a case of Dortmunder Gold. (Great Lakes brewery Company beers would not be available in Louisville for a few more years) The other time was when traveling through Pennsylvania to Louisville, I picked up a case of 26 oz. bottles of Stoudt's Helles beer which is one of my favorites. That case was very heavy.

Only buy a few beers by the case - beers that are reasonably sessionable and icons of their style - Edward and Julius. That’s about it. Cheers @JackHorzempa

No, that beer is available in packaged format (cans).

Not every draft beer drinker demands variety.

    Cheers!

I probably haven't bought a full case of the same beer for ten years. There are just to many things to try, and I don't drink enough at home or entertain guests often enough to ever have that much of one thing. I kind of don't even like to buy 4/6 packs, usually if I do I end up trading a couple of them for singles of other stuff. Tickers gotta tick, thanks Untapped

Edit: I just remembered that I bought a case of 2014 Expedition Stout (and I still have a couple left), so it has been more like 6 years.

Terunofuji vs. Hakuho showdown. Does Terunofuji get to Yokozuna?

Back on topic, I'm cheap and like the case discount. My usual purchase is 1 case plus various other packaging for a total of around 50 beers.

Not sure about Yokozuna for Terunofuji, regardless of outcome, but sooo glad to see Hakuho as strong and mobile as he's been.

I have a cellar beer picked out for the last day, which likely will be showdown between the two, both 14-0 (hopefully no henkas to spoil that) and will be glad to enjoy it to celebrate no matter who wins.

Hard to imagine I'd bump into Grand Sumo fans here, but Hakuho could both win the yusho and Terunofuji could get the promotion to Yokozuna. Win, win? Full disclosure, I'm in Teru's camp.

If Teru win the Cup he's a shoe in for Yokozuna promotion.

    Yes.
I wanted to buy a case of the C. Seipp Columbia Bock beer, but it sold out rapidly at Metropolitan's Brewery. I wound up at the Beer Temple a few blocks away, but all it had was one case, and I consigned myself to two 6-packs.
I would buy a case of Metropolitan's Dynamo Copper Lager (12-oz. bottles), but it is now in hibernation. :slight_frown:
I would buy a case of Du Claw's Sweet Baby Jesus! (12-oz. bottles) porter.
    I would buy a case of 24 12-oz. or 16-oz. returnable bottles if any breweries distributed it to this area. {No way that will happen again though.:beer:}
