Was wondering how many BA's still drink an occasional or even a regular "BMC Light Beer"?
    Flame on....
I will admit here that I still do and no excuses LOL
a lot due to price and calorie count
-if only Lagunitas IPA was 98 calories and 12.99/ 30 rack.....

Hardly ever anymore these days. Every now and again I'll have some Bud Light Platinum, but I don't even think that's really a light beer. If that doesn't count, the last time I had light beer was at the Giants-Steelers game last November. Bud Light normal.

As for "admitting" to it, I have no problem as I don't see what the big deal is. While I don't care much for light beer I still like cheap, strong lagers.

I still haven't tried Sam Adams Light which I heard is pretty decent.

Only one we get in the UK seems to be Coors Light. I've never had it, as I assume it's not very good.

Are they cheaper than their regular counterparts? Is that why people buy them or is it an attempt to be healthy?

I drink Pilsners, Helles Bocks/Lagers, Kolsches, Saisons, Vienna Lagers, Blonde Ales, American Pale Lagers, and plenty other lighter styles. I don't drink low calorie beers, and can't remember the last time I had anything from a Macro (I take that back, I have had Goose Island Sofie a couple times this summer). That does not mean other people should avoid them if they want to drink them. I don't judge. That doesn't stop other people from judging me though :grimacing:

Only time I drink light beer is when it is 95 degrees and humid and I am in the middle of an intensive physical labor project around the house. Other then that almost never. I would estimate that it amounts to less then a case of light beer a year.

No, but I usually try to keep a few 4-5% craft beers on hand in case I want something lighter.

I'd suggest Guinness though, it's not great, but pretty good for ~125 calories.

Because sometimes it sounds good. And sometimes it's the only beer available. I know a lot of people on BA dislike them enough that they will not drink it if it's the only thing available - they will drink water or whatever else. That's fine. But I don't hate it enough to not drink a beer at all if I want a beer.

EDIT: However, in reference to the "light/lite" part, if its "regular" counterpart is available (i.e., Coors Banquet, Budweiser, Miller High Life/MGD, etc.), I will always opt for that over the light/lite version.

No, I drink beer for the flavor mostly (the %abv of most craft beer is a nice bonus too) so if I want something that doesn't taste interesting I'll just have a diet soda instead.
