No. If a place only has Coors Light, Bud Light, etc., then I will have a mixed drink, wine, or water depending on where I am. I don't need alcohol enough to drink something that I don't like the taste of.

The only beer I touched this past weekend was at friend's birthday party, and it was Coors Light.. Then I proceeded to take shots of Fireball whiskey and got pretty twisted... No apologies here either

Usually just Narragansett lager if I'm buying it. Not sure that counts as "light".When friends pay I say whatever, they get me miller lite and immediately say "I know you like beer but I didn't know what to get you." Not sure I follow their logic but at that point I'm usually too drunk to care.

I can't say I never drink lite/light lager, but it's a very rare happening. (exceptionally rare if I'm buying)

Rarely, maybe two or three times a year. I had a few Coors Light while golfing a few weeks ago.

Drank a few Millers on the golf course two weeks ago that my father-in-law brought. Not hating.

I drank half of a Bud Light last year, but can't remember the last time I had a light beer before that. My neighbor was showing me some of the renovations he had done to his house and he offered me one. I didn't want to be rude or snobby so I accepted. Bud Light is the only beer I've ever seen him with, and he's never seen my beer fridge. He'd have no idea what to think.

The only light beer I'll occasionally drink, since it's from my favorite Swedish brewery, is a Swedish macro beer called Spendrups Bright Brew. It's all-malt, 5% abv and comes in at 115 calories per 12oz serving. The beer is slightly hoppier than their regular Spendrups premium lager (which has 23IBU, so maybe 25-26 or so IBUs for Bright Brew). The body is thinner than the regular lager as can be expected and the carbonation is fizzier, but flavorwise it's a tasty pale lager beer. One could even argue that it approaches a (generic) pilsner in taste whereas the standard Swedish export strenght lager is more along the lines of a Helles/Dortmunder hybrid.

Having tried Coors Light in the past I've developed a disliking for light beer as a concept and category, and I have watched with glee as several light beer brands introduced in Sweden in the last decade or so has failed and been discontinued. It's not a style of beer which I want to be successful since such success might crowd out other alternatives as has happened in the US. But it is also obvious to me that there is such a thing as a tasty light beer, if the brewer allows for it to have real taste and take some ques from pilsner brewing.

I only go out of my way to buy it when I have friends over for an evening of heavy drinking. I won't turn one down when a guest at someone's house, and have no deep hatred for any of the BMC parent companies or their brands.

“But it is also obvious to me that there is such a thing as a tasty light beer, if the brewer allows for it to have real taste …”

Patrik, you have had Coors Light but I assume you haven’t tried Miller Lite or Bud Light?

To state the obvious, the BMC breweries brew their light beers to be light across the board: light in calories, light in body, light in color and light in taste.

To answer the OP’s question: No.

    Cheers!

I don't buy the adjunct lagers of AB and MC, so I use a local chain liquor store's pdf of their prices when such a topic comes up. According to that, Budweiser and Bud Light, Miller Genuine Draft and Miller Lite, and Coors and Coors Light are all the same price - $4.49/sixpack.

And, traditionally, "light" beers usually have about 1/3 fewer calories than their "regular" counterpart. So, according to MC's Nutritional Info:

    Calories
    Coors - 149
    Coors Light - 102

    MGD - 143
    Miller Lite - 96
