I remember getting sick a couple times when I drink beer. But no, I don't drink beer when I get sick.

    Sure, why not?
I suppose if I had hepatitis I'd skip the beer. But a cold? Drink the beer.

If it's a beer I've never had before, I won't drink it if I'm sick. Or really any higher priced beers. Otherwise I'll drink a few beers if I'm sick.

Apparently I made my system inhospitable to self-respecting germs somewhere along the line and they gave up on me, because I haven't been sick in years and years, lucky, lucky me. But when I used to get sick once or twice a year I'd avoid intoxicants for the duration after I came to suspect that I'd prolonged a few preceding illnesses beyond their natural lifespans through riotous living.

If I were to get sick and continue drinking, I'd drink cheap.

Depends... Head cold.. can't taste it, why waste it?
Chest cold.. yes, unless on antibiotics.
    Mentally ill... of course!
    Stomach issues... no, again waste...
Liver damage... yes, punish the liver for wimping out on you.

It would be horrific if I didn't get a payout in the end  But yeah, my beloved beer fridge (in the garage) is so neglected that I actually saw a bunch of crap blocking its door. This is sacrilege. Simultaneously very symbolic.

I already have it planned out... No joke. Last couple weeks of pregnancy: procure a few super fresh 32 oz bottles of sucks. Promptly refrigerate.
    Give birth
Go home. IMMEDITATELY after plopping on the couch, request first bottle of chilly sucks in my poor neglected fav beer glass. Consume. Repeat.
Once I can handle long car rides..... go to peter pan bake shop... pick-up doughnuts... bring them to torst, drink heavily...... Then go to an ethiopean restaurant for their raw beef.
    equilibrium restored.

There are zero reasons to drink when I'm sick. I won't be able to taste or smell the beer, it will dehydrate me when my body is already craving fluids and it will prolong my illness since alcohol, as a mild poison, taxes the immune system.

Now maybe some people have more souped up immune systems than me and can handle it, but there is literally no benefit for me.

Yes, I'm so blindly in love with beer that I've actually convinced myself that it helps.

Yea, usually just stick with ice cold water, Gatorade, perhaps some ginger ale. BUT... a good hot toddy made with scotch is good stuff! Soothes the throat and relaxes you--just make sure to drink plenty of water to stay hydrated!

If I drink until I'm sick, does it still count?

Usually I drink more when I am sick, just not the expensive good stuff.

I think the prudent thing for me to do next time I get sick is abstain from beers. In the past, I may have drank a little but without really thinking through the potential consequences.

A bottle of Black Tuesday always does wonders for me when I'm sick. I forget the fact that I'm sick every time.
