Do You Have A "Beer Guy"

She's not a beer " guy"...

 

I have many "beer guys", I just don't have the finances to take advantage of their talents just yet.

 

I try to be this guy for the store I work at. We're smaller than some of the other guys so I don't always get everything, but I try. Was handing out Kiwi Rising from Jack's Abby today like it was halloween candy.

 

I have a few beer guys. Different guys for different things!

 

I recently moved down here from RI, still refer to that place as "the Candy Store" haha

 

Maybe he wants to have sex with u? Does he look at u funny?

 

I have 5 of them in 3 different stores.The 3 guys in one of the shops I frequent in Missouri are more like my buddies.I let them know when new releases are coming and what to ask for,they set aside limited releases for me and occasionally throw me some freebies.I also trade with one of the and let them know if I see things here in Illinois I think they may like.My other guy in Missouri is more of a business relationship.Supply and demand type thing but he's really good to me as well.Hell,he sent a friend of his down to the Side Project release,unbeknownst to me,to get me a bottle of The Origin.Obviously,he's a real good guy as well.My Illinois guy runs a small bottle shop that sees some good releases and limited traffic and he takes care of me on this side of the River.

 

Funny you should ask... I have 2 beer guys at a store I frequented when I lived in MA. Even though I now live in CA they still put stuff aside for me. Just got emailed today that they set some GI-Sisters and backwoods aside for me. I'm going to be in the area in December and want to bring them back a little CA thank you box. Any suggestions? (I live in Santa Cruz)

 

I have several bottle shop guys that hook me up. I've recently started to collect reps and distributors as well. I recommend this to anyone. I treat them well and it comes right back to me.

No. The beer stores I patronize apparently think my money is sufficient.

 

Nice story, and hook your beer guy up with something great. Bottle shops here don't sell liquor, a nice bottle of Bourbon or a nice Single Malt is he partakes.

My beer guy sent me a text this morning to let me know that he got his first shipment of Abrasive. Ten minutes later, as I was checking out, he cracked one open and gave me a solid pour.

So, yeah. I guess I have one.

 

I'm a beer guy as well. I've got a few customers I always go out of the way to set up (text message new releases, hold bottles, tickets to special events, even grab bottles when I go out of state). My customers have also invited me to bottle openings (a 35 bottle Stout opening-Christ!), some opportunities to try some fantastic beers I never would have gotten the opportunity to have (Baller Stout, a Cigar City party, multiple Cantillions) and some stupidly rare bottles (at least 3 bottles of Dark Lord, BA Plead the 5th...). I like beer, my customers like beer, I like talking about beer and so do they!

 

I suppose I'm the beer guy as well.

I have a couple guys on here I'm always texting to let know, a couple actually from instagram as well that happened to be at my store and then a few guys (and girls) that I just know what they like and hook them up with what I think they may enjoy. I usually will hold a bottle or two of a special release in case they do want hem but after that to the shelf it goes.

 

I know a bottle shop owner. We talk about beers and such, so if he's there when I visit, he'll suggest some beers for me. But, the good part is that he'll give me tips on when "desirable" beers are scheduled to arrive. The shop doesn't really hold beers for anyone, so I don't expect him to hold any beers for me, so just by letting me know anticipated availability is nice. I've been able to buy special releases, Cantillons, limited shelf beers, etc.

I am the beer guy. I try not to play favorites, but for me, it definately helps when someone comes in and knows my name, geeks out with me for 20mins. If I know what that person likes, I am much more likely to hold a bottle for them.

 

I don't have a beer guy. I just know a guy who would be very sad if he saw this post...
