Can't do the snacks thing. It has to be paired well with food or no food at all. The last time I was on the East Coast I was fortunate to have few Substance cans, opened a couple with my dad, after a few sips he goes inside and grabs a pack of fruit snacks and starts eating them with the beer. I don't think there was ever a time that I wanted to punch my dad in the face more than that!

I sometimes smuggle craft beer into cheap food places like taco stands, or good burger places that don't have decent beer.

The only glass that "upsets" me is a pilsner flute...I hate that glass even with a pilsner in it, if it's coming to the table with a stout in it that's just asinine. How can I not say something, like a wine lover wouldn't lay an egg if their red was served in a martini glass?:astonished:

Drinking beer is a wonderful experience because it satisfies two opposite urges for me. I get a kick out of the novelty with new varieties. It also satisfies my fanatical desire for the miniature rituals that give shape to my day. The shopping, pouring tastings and documenting ahhh...
And oh lord the spread sheet

I buy a around 5-6 different brews per week and I I like to keep the numbers even i start with the six packs untill they reach for one at a time the the four packes untill everything reaches 3 then i move on the the singles and i like there to be one of each style left then move from my least favorite and save my best for last.

Teku's upset me because it serves no purpose other than to be fancy (though I'm sure someone will tell me otherwise) I mean really what can it do that a snifter can't?

I start getting a little fidgety if I haven't been to a new brewery, brewpub, beer bar, or craft beer store at least once every month.

I don't like the sound bottles make when they hit together. I space every bottle in my fridge so I don't have to hear that sound more than I have to. Putting them in 6 packs helps. I space my glassware the same way. I know, I'm weird, but I'd rather not hear that sound.

When I play beer pong, I can only play with snifters filled with Black Tuesday. It's dangerous, expensive, and weird, but that's just how I roll.

Same here. I'm often at odds with the rest of my dining party, because they're eager to quickly order food, and I'd prefer to casually enjoy a few beers, free from food-based hindrances, and then order something at the tail-end.

For the ChainGangGuy it is usually a table for one. The loneliest number.

The higher the price on the sticker, the more I look for this exact thing. The thing is, I have to say that most of hte time i do look for this regardless.

There are some pairings I do like and some that have been phenomenal (flourless chocolate cake + palo santo marron; chili crab + finest kind), but if I'm having a new beer for the first time, I want to taste the beer and not the pairing. If I'd pair a new beer with anything it would just be a cheese plate or something where the meal isn't between me and the beer.

To be clear, I think wine pairing is overrated too. Maybe it's just the way I eat.

My friend had a (drinking) funeral party for his favorite DogfishHead snifter glass a few days after it was broken. Weird vibe, but we all drank to each and every one of his increasingly slurry toasts,...

A while back I decided that floppy six-pack holders with one or two bottles in them were just Not. For. Me. If they're full then it's easier to shift them about the beer fridge, and even stack them. Ever since then I will pour a beer, and then immediately return the empty bottle to it's 'slot'. The crazy part is that at times it will look like I have a fridge full of beer, but it's just a bunch of sixers with mostly empties.

It's really cool finding a spare bottle in one of those things that you thought was long gone, though.
