Do you have a $ limit on 22 oz. bottles?*

$10 here as well, and even that's more than I'd like to spend. I'm generally happy to spend $5.99 on one and anything higher than that better either be new or a special release. I enjoyed my $8.99 ST Plum Noir just now, but wouldn't spend that much myself on it again.

^ I don't get the rationale here... it's apples and oranges to compare, say, a sixer of zombie dust @ 10$ to a bomber of dark lord, or a 1400 bottle release of yourbrewerynamegoeshere bourbon barrel aged RIS @ 20$.

That said, in a vacuum I prefer a 12oz bottle any day, but I have no issue paying 25$ for said limited bbl bomber.

If/when I open the other bottle there is chance for redemption, but I am skeptical.

Have been disappointed so I use caution when spending big bucks. Lagunitas makes some good ones cheep but Southern Tiers are worth 10

I don't recall if it's in a proper 22, but Imperial Biscotti Break is the top of the mark (for a non-rare/really hard to get beer) for me right now at $19.

I take into account the beer and the price everytime I'm making a decision.

I've paid $20 for 22 oz beers I thought were a bargain and $2.99 for beers I thought were a rip off.

Usually around 15 to 20 dollars, its pretty rare that I get something within that price range though. Parabola is the last one I could think of. Amazing beer, but I couldn't help but a cringe when I heard my total at the register. So, like the OP I usually stick with six packs and less expensive bombers.

I have no problem spending 10-15 on bombers and up to 20 on 750's. But will consider higher depending on the beer. What I don't really understand though is breweries gouging you on the bombers when they have a sixer of the same thing sitting on the next shelf over that is only $2 more. For example, Rogue and their Santa's Reserve, but they aren't the only one's i have seen do this.

My limit used to be $15 for a 22. I no longer have limits.

R U kidding me? No limit.
These are the demigods of beer. Parabola, Arctic Devil, Sucaba, Yeti, Curieux, Fruet... and I'm just naming a handful of random shit that came to mind... You'll get shit in a bomber that you will never see in a 4- or 6-pack.

    Beer advocacy knows no bounds.

I don't spend more than $6.99 on a bomber if i can get it in a 4 or 6 pack format, even if I don't like it, the math works out to leave it in my fridge for guests.

No specified limit on bombers/750s, but I will at least think twice about anything over $15

Fuck....I REALLY love xxxxx beer but its xxx pennies over my self imposed limit so I guess I'll settle for something I don't like as much.

That's a thought that will never cross my mind.

I picked up a bomber of this in a small store in Orange County New York today for $13. There were 3 of them sitting there on the shelf, I'm pretty sure no one who goes there would even look twice. Drinking pretty good. I'm happy with it. Usually NY prices are horrible.

$8-10 is mine, but if it is something exclusive or something I am looking forward to, I will make an exception.

Wait - what is it then?
I'm kinda generalizing bombers, but I don't mean to misrepresent... I know it weren't no small bottle - lol :grinning:

The Bruery has larger than 22 oz. bottles, I guess?

Probably around six is my normal cutoff point. Occasionally $7 or 8. I don't think I've ever spent more than $10 on a bomber. Just too much good beer for less than that.

Then there's Boatswain HLV for $2.50/22 oz at Trader Joe's...

If it's any consolation, I was imagining a 750ml with my answer as well (Tilquin Gueuze). Close enough...
