Initially 15-20 bucks at most for a 22oz, but then I went to DLD and got the golden ticket to buy a Dark Lord Variant for $50. So I guess to answer your question, no limit if it's special, but normally 15-20 bucks.

$15, maybe $20 if it's something very special. Never more than that, beyond that price point it's all hype, quality/taste and price are not directly proportional.

Not a common thing to buy. When I do its never been more than $18 and that was once with shipping for Rivertown Gueze. I broke down and paid $14.99 for Riserva the other week. It was by far the best price I saw and had to do it. $12 for Uinta Labyrinth(sp?), $7 for Big Black Voodoo, I did pay $12 for a Supplication last year, 11.2oz? I think.

I always multiply the price x3 and choke up a lung at the "six pack" price and walk away.

BA stouts, Wilds , Sours, Tripels etc I can see paying for some times.

Most purchases are six packs or cases. Big bottles look cool but very little beer in them for the money. If it comes in a six pack I will NOT buy a large bottle unless its less money per ounce.

    Enjoy

$7-8 but I rarely buy 22 oz. bottles when there are so many good beers available in 4/6 packs for $10 or less.

I don't go over 10$ often. The only bombers that I buy often that are close to that price range are either Revolution, Pipeworks, Stone.. things like that. I'll occasionally splurge on something bigger if its a special occasion or a rarity that i come across, but i never go over say.. 15$ before taxes.

3.99$ laguintas bombers are where it's at though. Lucky 13? Yes please!

Spent $15 on New Belgium's La Folie Oud Bruin. Would I do it again? Yes. Was it worth it? Yes. Could I have found something similar under $10? No.

To quote Stone: It's not too expensive, you're too cheap.

When I go to buy beer, I go more for things I really like, have never had, or things that will age well. I am not usually too concerned about price. I typically spend $100-ish per visit to my local bottle shops, and have spent 3 or 4 times that in a single bottle shop when I am out of town and presented with options not normally available to me. Most expensive out of town purchase...involved half a case of Fruet, half a case of Smoking Wood, about 10 Belgian sours, and dozen or so vintage Imp stouts and barleywines. The owner of the store helped me carry the 4 boxes to my car, and even though I only hit his store 2-3 times a year, is always very friendly. All my local shops know me by sight. I also order/pre-order cases of stuff I drink on a regular basis (I love me some Zhukov and Choklat!) I have never calculated price per ounce, or tried to figure out if a six pack is cheaper. My most recent "expensive" bottles were 3 different versions of Xyauyu 2009 barleywine at $48 per 16.9 oz bottle. Of course, when I got to a bottle shop, I go there to buy beer, not comparsion shop. If I am in a situation where money is tight, I just pop a homebrew and don't tempt myself by going to a bottle shop.

I'll drop 11 bucks for a Victory at Sea. Thats about the highest I pay, typically. I just don't buy bombers very often.

Well, for us in the Great White North, 750 ml bottles are more common than the 22 oz ones. I can get a nice Quebec brew like Dominus Vobiscum Lupulus for about $12. Unibroue's regular offerings will usually run $6-8.

The most I have paid for a bottle (retail) has been $15. That being said, I am probably going to spend a bit more than that to get an Achel Trappist Extra tonight.

No limit. If it's wax-dipped, I'll just hand over my credit card and sign it without looking. Everyone knows wax-dipped bombers taste like .rar

I don't spend more than a dollar an ounce on beer so that. Though, I'm willing to make the occasional exception, like the $25 I spent on a bottle of Eclipse because I knew it was my only chance to grab some since it really doesn't come into the area.

I think OP is talking about two different things. There are 22s that are just a 22oz version of a beer that I can get in six packs. In that case, I'll buy whichever is the better value. But when we are talking about beers that only come in 22oz (or other large bottle sizes) then I don't really care what the price per oz is. It's not like I can go find six packs of Jolly Pumpkin La Roja.

I wont pay over $10. Especially if I've never had it before. Nothing worse then paying a lot on something you really don't like.
