I personallly struggle with buying a 6 pack of any beer I love (doesn't really matter the style) and working through it before wanting to switch to something else. I either get bored working throug a 6 pack of low flavored beers (intro crafts, BMC's etc) and for the high-hopped, RIS, Belgians my pallet gets fried out after 1-2 of the same beer and I need to change it up. Am I the minority or is this more common than I think? When I hear people buying cases of really high-end beer I personally can't imagine having 1-2 beers a day of that same beer over a several week period. Even any beers I've rated world class, I can't have on an every day basis beyond 2-3 days tops without losing my taste for it.

LOL I am like this too. I like to try as many different beers as possible. If you find me walking out of a shop that allows you to mix and match you will find 6 different beers in the sixpack in my hand. :grinning:

Whenever I hear someone say they bought a case of beer that's not extremely hoppy/ fades quickly, I assume it's to enjoy once in a while over a longer time period or to mostly cellar. Or that they're in PA. I'm sure there are a fair number of people who stick to a single beer day in day out, but I don't know/drink with any of them; everyone I know who likes craft beer wants to explore.

Happens to me all the time. I have like 5 or 6 sixers with 2 or 3 beers left in them. BLAST! This summer I went on a Founders Dirty Bastard kick for like 4 weeks and have like 3 six packs left.

me too. I wish more stores let you buy mixed sixers or singles. I usually one visit the rare few in my area that do this. Occasionally, I'll visit some other stores just to see if there is a good sale or a 12 pack sampler/mixer from a brewer that I can't find, but that is it.

I'm in the same boat and hardly ever buy a beer I've had in the past. I tend to neglect the remnants of a six pack of one beer if I have others in the fridge I haven't tried...

I get beers like Flower Power, Celebration and Nugget Nectar in bulk and drink 'em fresh on the regular until they're gone.
I get beers like Brooklyn BCS, Goose Island BCBS and Founders KBS in bulk and drink some now, drink some later, drink some much later.
I can bounce around with different styles from day to day or stay stuck on one for a few days to a week or more.
I think it may be due to my menstrual cycle? :flushed:

I tend to buy sixers far more than mixed packs, but rarely have the same beer twice in a row. I usually have at least 6+ partial six or four packs going, and I almost never go on a single-beer binge. I never struggle to finish a sixer of good beer, though

    Yes.

Up until discovering Deschutes Red Chair and New Belgiums Dig I probably went at least 8 months since buying a regular 6'er. Always build my own six packs so I can get variety.

And my problem was that if I bought a six pack and mid stream started jonesing for something else, I went out and bought more. Didn't matter if I could afford it.

Variety is the spice of life. Unless I'm watching football, I like to mix it up.

You'll get over the urge to tick.
There are few things better than buying a sixer of Sculpin, Black Butte Porter, Weinhenstephan Original, Caldera IPA, or any one of my all time favorites and drinking them over the course of an evening or 2.
