I too buy lots of singles, and if there is anything I want a bunch of, I try to get a keg. That way, I can drink all I want, and still only consider it buying a single.

I'm in the same boat with the op. There are some beers I will buy a six pack/ four pack of, but for the most part, I like to switch it up.

No. Not in the slightest. I once spent 7 years drinking almost exclusively Tetley's Mild.

Nope. I drink Sweetwater IPA like it's the sweet nectar of life. And since Green Flash just hit SC, West Coast IPA will soon be on the 'beer fridge staple' list, too.

Funny post. I decided recently to only buy cases of beer when it comes to 330/350ml bottles. It is cheaper and the bottles are not exposed to light in the store, eliminating skunking. The only single bottles I now buy are 500/750s and ONLY if the bottles are brown.

It's from Duck Rabbit in NC, but it's not mine (yet).

When you buy a case, is your primary reason the economy of buying in bulk overcoming your desire to mix it up, or because you love that beer so much you'd be buying four 6pks in a row anyway? Or some other reason? I've bought 12pks for economy before, but usually my desire to try new beers keeps me from committing to more than that.

It's like playing Pokemon: gotta drink 'em all. I love to try everything BA's recommend in my style preferences. So I'll get one bottle/can; maybe two. If there's some I like, I always keep a couple on hand. But new beer tasting/reviewing is one of my favorite hobbies. Always surprising.

I buy singles whenever possible. If I can't find a single of something I really want to try I generally cave, buy the 6 pack and give a couple bottles to my craft drinking friends. I just don't drink enough to go through 6 packs on the regular.

I hear ya. I kinda have this problem too, but don't necessarily view it as a problem, except when the cashier looks at me like I'm from another planet because she has to ring up beers separately and they are different prices. Since I'm out to enjoy beer and try different styles and brands, I don't want to be drinking the same thing for the next two months. I also am starting to nurse my beer a lot more so I'm drinking less in an evening or session. Just me wanting to be honest in my reviews and being responsible.

I'm that way too. Total Wine down here in Southern California let's you build your own six-pack. They easily have over 1000 different beers you can choose from.
