This thread inspired me to pick up some Vicious by North Peak Brewery today. It's a wheat IPA. Drinking one right now and it's pretty solid. It's no Sumpin' Sumpin' but not many can live up to that.

I second everyone who mentioned Heavy Seas riptide, I bought that on a whim based on the style and was very impressed. Widmer bros hopside down lager is very enjoyable for me right now also although I guess it's more of a hoppy lager than ale. Kinda like Boulevard's 80 acre, whatever it is I dig it.

Anchorage Galaxy White IPA and Deschutes Chainbreaker stand out in my mind

Only one I've had is the Chainbreaker. It's pretty solid but doesn't taste much like an IPA at all.

Yeah, Boulevard collaboration #2 was one of my favorites.

No. I LOVE them. I used to be all about the regular IPA whales. I did a little dabbling in the blacks, and it got me seriously hooked. I had a hard time returning to regular IPAs after trying Sublimely Self Righteous and Hoppy Feet 1.5. They're just unforgettable: they have that firm, delicious roast and thick-ass body. Dayum! But then I've been going white IPA lately. Chainbreaker is uh-MAY-zing. And I love Anchorage Galaxy White too. Those kind of beers really remind me what I'm missing, yanno? Survey says, my favorite IPA style is: white. Power to those who disagree, but you're wrong!

Have to say that Sublimely Self Righteous is a tremendous brew, the only non traditional ipa of you can even use that word that I love. Amazing display of hops and roasted malts , most just taste burned.

Never had one I wanted to drink again. Same for black IPAs. I am boring I guess.

Sumpin Sumpin is kind of like a White IPA, even though it's called an American Pale Wheat Ale. This might be my favorite beer of all.

I've had the Riptide White IPA by Heavy Seas, which was pretty good and down here in Florida, Tequesta Brewing makes a White IPA that I had on tap one time which was really good. http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/24836/90642

We need more of this style. Perfect for Florida summers.

I heard about them last summer but hadn't had one yet. I read about them and they seemed to be sort of like hoppy witbiers. So I homebrewed a traditional witbier (coriander, orange peel, etc...) but aimed for slightly higher ABV in my recipe. I used citra and a little eucalyptus as late boil additions and dry hopped with citra as well.

Despite my novice homebrewing skills, it turned out really, really well (as opposed to a lot of what I make).

When I started getting my hands on commercially available examples, I was disappointed.
