Have any of you ordered from overseas? Ive tried to get into the Struise website, but to no avail. I did find a Belgian store that ships here. I just wanted to see if anyone has had any experience with ordering. Shipping problems, cost or customs? Box labeling? I just know there are certain rules we follow when doing a trade and I didnt know how loud they yell about what they are sending. If anyone has advice for me, post it here. Furthermore, if youre in KY, send me a message.

    Thanks!

I have gotten numerous items from Belgium,England,Poland all bought thru Ebay . Shipping can be quite expensive and the time it takes to get to the states can run long also .

I would order from overseas ALL THE TIME if shipping wasn't so damn brutal. Best way I have found is to find a person or two to order as well then all of you split the shipping. If anyone ever wants to do this, hit me up I might be game.

I ordered Armand'4 Lente and Zomer from Etre Gourmet back in December and had no problems. I was nervous about KY's alcohol shipping laws so I ended up having them shipped to my parent's house in SC, but turns out that probably wasn't necessary because they actually labeled the box as "collective glassware." I had no problems with customs and the package only took like 10 days to arrive. The beers were about $40 a piece and shipping was $40 as well, but the more beers you buy the cheaper the shipping gets per beer. Hope this helps

Bought the whole armand'4 series plus some Cantillon from Belgium and had no issues. With shipping ended about 45 a bottle but I got some stuff I would never otherwise get a chance at trying.

I bought beer from Brewdog. It wasn't cheap and the boxes were demolished when they arrived. Luckily they sent a replacement. That box was also beat up but at least the bottles weren't broken. They labeled them - "live yeast samples".

I wouldn't do it regularly though.

I've purchased through être gourmet. Yeah, shipping sucks, but they pack very well and ship in a timely manner.

I've purchased through être gourmet and Struise. At Struise, I believe I purchased around 12 33cl bottles. Shipping was around $5-6/bottle. At être gourmet, I purchased 12 750s. Shipping was around $10/bottle. I've had no problems whatsoever with customs.

I order scotch from Royal Mile Whiskies in Scotland, but shipping to the US is expensive. They do sell beer on their site as well, not a big selection. http://www.royalmilewhiskies.com/find.asp To make it worth my while a number of us will get a large parcel which makes shipping a lot less expensive per bottle, and you are paying the non-VAT price.

i have ordered from de struise many many times. once, my first order in 2012...my order got stuck in customs. i got slammed with $40 extra to get it. sucked. i think it was triggered by the declared value being north of $200, although who knows, this supposedly can happen on any order.
