Does everyone review/post tasting notes on every new beer they come across? Not that I keep statistics on it but I'd say for every 10-15 beers I have reviewed here, there are one or two that I consume without taking notes. Sometimes it's my mood, I just want to "enjoy" the beer in the moment and not be overly analytical and have my notepad at my side...sometimes there were instances where I didn't have the chance to take notes and just enjoyed the beer and the moment in which it was consumed. Just curious to see if anyone else did the same.

There are a LOT of Beers that I haven't reviewed.. but, yeah, if I know, for instance, that I'm goin to a "Beer Fest", I'll take along a pad and pen and try to quickly describe them... I've got 230 beer reviews..and believe me there were a lot of ones I didn't..

I only review beers that I like or dislike a lot. so I guess it would be about one in a hundred gets a review

No. My reviews tend to tilt heavily towards bottles, light on the tap beers.

When I'm out & about I'm more interested in jabbering than reviewing.

The last time I took notes while drinking a beer with my girlfriend she told me I was cut off....hence the two reviews in two years.

Nope, just like OP said, sometimes I just like to relax and enjoy the beer without being overly critical of it. Most times I don't review beers if only tried it once. If I have a 4/6 pack of something, I usually review it.

Most of my reviews are new beers from my local Canal Park Brewing Company because i am adding the beer to here. I want to start reviewing more but most of the time I just want to enjoy the beer.

Not anymore. Got above 900 reviews and when the bros. instituted "hads" started using those almost all the time. I love reviewing and still do one from time to time but I find it's not often that I can have a beer alone and not be rude to those around me. I drink with my wife most of the time and I don't always want to tell her I'll be back in ten minutes after I write this review. When I'm out by myself I don't always want to write a review at the bar either.

I used to go into Tired Hands (and other favorite spots) and review beers while I drank them but I found I enjoyed talking to Jean (the brewer) and Colin and the others a lot more than hiding in the corner typing out reviews on my phone.

I am bad at re-reviewing beers.

If at home I try to review all I cross paths with, but if I strongly believe or discover I have non-fresh beer, I won't. When out drinking (rarely, due to the lack of good places near me), I'd usually rather just enjoy the beer.

I am either too lazy or too buzzed to review beers. I take notes and sometimes review later!

90% of the time I would say yes, but it depends on the circumstances and a bunch of other factors. Note book in hand, to then log later.

I don't take notes, for starters. I review pretty much every beer I consume at home, but if I have beer at a tasting, I usually won't do more than make down a quick "Had" rating. Same goes for beer on tap: unless I've had it a few times, I usually won't review it, as I can't vouch for the freshness, glass cleanliness, atmosphere, etc. (but I will still give it a quick "Had" rating).

I simply don't understand people who obsessively take notes and post beer review after beer review. Nobody gives a shit what I think about a beer anymore than I care about what others think. As far as I'm concerned, beer reviews are narcissistic and a total waste of time.

Flame on boys - I'm on my fourth pint and couldn't care less! :stuck_out_tongue:

The 'hads' option has made me lazy. But it is nice to just sit back and relax and enjoy the beer instead of taking notes while drinking. Isn't the actually drinking what this is all about...

Usually I spend a long time reviewing my first beer, then I either give a short review or a Had to my second one. By my third beer, I realize that any rating I'm giving is the product of a self that is not my own, for I channel the spirit of St. Gambrinus.

I drink entirely to much beer to sit their and review them all. I have a hard enough time just taking pictures to post on my Facebook page.
