    Do you?

I am new to the trading game and I can see how it is addictive. I'll make one or two trades a month, nothing over $60 in price, but I have received New Glarus, Three Floyds and other bottles. I also have some Intangible Ale bottles because Pizza Boy is right around the corner from me. They're accumulating in my apartment. I just dont know if I should get rid of them or just keep the labels.

Some. i keep about 10 at most and then if i slay a bigger whale i throw a lesser one out so they don't clog up my room.

No. Any whale drinking is for personal gratification at the time of consumption and I don't need a keepsake.

No but sometimes if it is a cool bottle I will either give it to my neighbor who makes them into candles or my other neighbor who is a homebrewer.

I used to save special bottles, not "whales" per se. But one day I was just like, "It's an empty bottle, stop being sentimental." I try to save growlers, even if I will never re-visit the particular brewery. I save min-kegs that I have destroyed. That's almost embarrassing to admit because almost all mini-kegs are crap beer. Whatever ... we all have our collections, and to each his own, I understand it. I try to keep the collecting/hoarding to beer glasses ... I have a lot of those.

I do. I'm a big fan of bombers and well-designed labels.

No...but I have taken pictures of my recycling bin once or twice because the contents can be pretty unreal after some of our bottle shares.

I dont keep bottles but my roommate and I have kept all of the labels from our carriers for the last 16 months. We are going to make a big wall collage.. cutting off one side of each label and not using repeats. The collection isnt bad so far but still so much drinking to do.

No. The trophy bottle is a token prior to consumption. One consumed, it becomes a moment in time, and a memory. A good memory of what it took to get it, and the wait leading up to consumption.

I do both of whales and cool designs. For example, I think DFH creates some unqiue and interesting labels, so I have developed a cool collection of their beers. I also keep memorable/ whales, such as my first Pliny, first BCBS (and its different vintages), first KBS, etc. I think it is fun, and if you have the room, why not?!

I like to put them on the ledge around the bin at the recycling center to rub it in everyone's face.

No, I collect too many things as it is now, bottles and labels would be overkill.

i save labels (got about a dozen photo albums full)...i do save some bottles, but those are the truly best stuff i have tried like DQ, M, wooden hell, dave (/humblebrag) and things like that. one day i will probably de-label them and into the albums they will go when i need the space. i also have the first 4 yrs of BA DL bottles and 08-current darkness bottles that i have hung onto. the BADLs will prob be the first to go.

but yeah, these take up space and FAST if you save them.

I keep some whale/whale-y bottles and/or beers that absolutely blew me away and display them on the very top of my cabinets in the kitchen. I have shares frequently, sometimes with new people and the empties can lead to great discussions and memories of the beers. I do have to go through them once in a while and throw some out though.

Sure, although I have had to thin down as the bottles have taken up a lot of space some of them. Even if the beer isn't that "coveted" or whatever if I like it or enjoyed it I tend to hang on to it.

I keep a lot of bottles, some for the display of art , others to fill with homebrew and many more I hope to make a grand display of in a home bar/ man cave.
