As the title suggests, I would like to know if you work with someone that shares a similar passion for beer as yourself?

I work Sales (music store to be precise) and the closest thing to a BA working with me is someone that doesn't drink BMC.

During those slower hours or on the occasional down time the first thing that comes to mind during the grueling or boring hours of work is of course beer!

not saying it is great for business to have employees who share the same enthusiasm for what others may look at as just another alcoholic beverage....

anyways. Do you work with another BA?

I wish, but most of my crew are interested in craft at least. Though they don't geek out on it as much as I do...

I work with about a dozen people that would be considered "advocates of good beer", but I don't think any of them use this website on any regular basis.

I work with beer geeks, but they aren't necessarily posters here. It's nice when we can triangulate information when we're hunting for unicorns - its also good to have people you can split cases up with.

I haven't worked much over the past three years, but I just finished my apprenticeship. I usually drink with three of my buddies from my apprenticeship class.

Thankfully, there's only one guy at my work (that I know of) that is on BA, and he's not very active. Otherwise, I might get fired given the frequency of my posts during working hours :grinning:

I do. While he really isn't on the site (much), he's an avid drinker, bottle hunter, brewer, etc.
Beer is a pretty consistent topic of discussion at work.

I am in sales and I have three customers that are into beer almost as much as me. One I told about this site and he joined, one has been on for a while, but neither of them are on here very often at all. One other customer has a cellar and the whole sha-bang but is not on here to my knowledge. Its is nice to talk beer with some people from time to time, though.

Thankfully the answer is yes, because if there's one thing I hate talking about at work, is work.

I work for and by myself so it's not really the same, but every couple of weeks I meet up and hang with a pal who does the same at a periodic professional function. He's a funny guy in that he's got "his beer" as much as any BMC drinker, except his is Duval. He likes it and he can afford it - he buys it by the case (in 750s) and has told me he puts one down after work late most afternoons, which is what I do, only with a couple 12 oz bottles of far more pedestrian stuff. He doesn't like heavy beers (I poured him some Old Chub once and he said "Here, you finish this" after a sip), but has tried lots of other stuff and is open to suggestion - a couple weeks ago I grabbed a 4-pack of Hoptimum which we split while hanging out into the evening (as we do) and he liked that quite a lot.

Black13 and I work for the same company but he's at a location I rarely work at. We had actually already met at a tasting before we even knew each others jobs. On the days I do work with Michael, we usually do squeeze in a little beer talk during some down time. It's every bit as good a time killer as coming on here and browsing the forums.

Thankfully I found local BA's who gave me a home.. No more hosting shitty tastings with co-workers who are more interested in getting hammered off of higher alcohol content beer versus what they actually taste like.

    No BA'ers at my work.

Everyone likes craft beer but no one's on here that I know of. I had a couple cans of Heady in the fridge once and a guy that would stay late kept drinking them. I should set him up with an account.

Nope. But I've got it pretty good, in that one of the two people with whom I presently work is my best drinking buddy and we've got a bar right next door to the office. Since we're a nonprofit, when we're being super effective we often have to repair to the bar for a couple of pints out of fear that, otherwise, a profit might break out. We're professionals that way.

I sometimes cite this site when we're talking brew but so far as I know he hasn't spent any time here.

One of my co-workers is in to craft beer, but he isn't on BA.
