No, but sometimes it turns me off from even buying.

    Goes with names too. I know it shouldn't but sometimes . . .

Another no vote. Label/brand influences my buying, not scores.

If you grade appearance by the label on the bottle, you're doing it wrong.

I never have the label present while evaluating beer. So never.

No, just recently a label alone forced me to pick it up for that reason alone though. That hadn't happened in recent memory but I was reassured as I took the "Zombie Monkie" to the check out and the associate proceeded to go on about how it was one of her favorite porters, and she wished it was year round insrtead of seasonal. It turned out to be one of my favorite porters to date as well. In response to the initial question though, my rating is only based upon the appearance of the beer itself.

I appreciate a good sense of humor but, no it does not influence my score. You have to actually make really good beer to get a higher score.

    No....

The appearance score refers to the beer itself.

No. It's ridiculous to rate a beer based on the label. When you have a beer on tap do you rate its appearance based on the tap handle?

For me no. Unfortunately for a lot of customers it does. I see tons of good beer sit because of their awful packaging, but a lot of awful beers sell because of their flashy packaging. I notice all the time that big name breweries change their packaging (AB,coors, etc) 3x a year. Even Sam Adams changes at least once a year. I think everyone should change/mix it up every once in a while,to grab the customers attention who wouldn't normally buy that. People who know beer usually aren't bothered by packaging. At the same time their are some breweries with TERRIBLE labels. Doesn't mean that I wouldn't buy the beer. The cartoon labels do however annoy me.

The only way the label would factor into my appearance score would be if someone chopped up the label and put it in the beer itself, it disintegrated and then caused my beer to become cloudy with chunks of paper floating around.

I would say that label appearance means more to me than the actual appearance of the beer in a glass. They both equally have zero influence on my enjoyment of the beer.

On the other hand, label art can effect my decision to by a beer or not, so one could argue that label art has more direct correlation to my beer drinking habits.

Honestly, I think the "appearance" score is kinda silly in the first place so I am throwing out some other variables.

Oh and no, label art doesn't effect my score.

Labels are cool, but it's all about what's in the bottle

I feel the label is why Zombie Dust is rated so highly. It's a good beer, but I don't think it's top 20 in the world.

The label influences all of my scores. My usual routine is to inspect the label... then peel it off, smell it, taste it, and judge it's "mouthfeel." I have a hard time accurately judging anything by Stone.
